... I saw that a fork of #Tusky without the instance blocklist is now available on #FDroid as "#FreeTusky". For better or worse, this is an example of what #SoftwareFreedom looks like. In a parallel universe where the Tusky blocklist contained instances used by #SocialJustice activists, the same people who might be upset by Free Tusky would be celebrating its creators as heroes.

@realcaseyrollins I agree - and to the people who don't like the idea of sharing a platform with Trump, the Fediverse will only give them more power to disassociate themselves with him. On Twitter the best you can do is block. On the Fediverse you can defederate a server entirely.

The goal of Spinster, Glindr, and the Fediverse is not to be a second space where people can seek refuge from Twitter, but to replace Twitter entirely. If there are people on Twitter who aren't on the Fediverse yet, why? We need to bring J.K. Rowling here, bring Maya Forstater, bring your friends and family here (maybe on another server), until Twitter is obsolete to the point of being nonessential.
