@delroth I'm curious how soon they will send an abuse complaint to themselves or their provider (assuming they have more than one).

@x43r0 @sophieschmieg

I'm not OP but I'd rate Orbiter and Children of Dead Earth highest.

@freemo @rchusid

The text of SESTA I could find (congress.gov/bill/115th-congre) doesn't seem to have any such effects. Do you have a reference that mentions that effect?

@ruuda Maybe some zeroes get interspersed inbetween actual samples?

@aredridel

Do you think that the phone network shares these problems, or maybe they're ameliorated somehow there?

@gvs @neatchee

This might not be as obvious in some places. For example, in some places the company cannot lower the salary, even to a value that's higher than the original salary in the employment contract (not taking into account any subsequent raises). If they want to do that, they need to satisfy the requirements for firing the employee (and, if the employee demurs, they need to actually fire him). I wouldn't be surprised if, at least in some places, same applied to working conditions.

@bagder

It might be interesting to see this with log scale on y axis and, if those lines seem to decrease roughly linearly, to compare how halflifes change over time.

@_thegeoff @simon_brooke @raspberry_pi

An idea (I'm not entirely sure if that's what Simon meant) is not to run blender and slicer there, but to slice it on your desktop, and cause the raspi to feed the sliced file to the printer.

octoprint is a tool that does that (imo well), and at least PrusaSlicer has integration with it, insofar you can tell it "send the sliced gcode to the remote octoprint and command it to start printing it".

@literalgrill

What's the consequence of declaring a stream to contain "politics and sensitive social issues"? Does it prevent monetization?

I wonder if some streamers will decide to just declare all their streams to be like that in a form of protest, because after all this is such a broad category that something from it always can come up.

@aredridel @brainwane

Are you saying that it's as ill-defined as "average person"?

TIL that there's a detective Monk movie released last year.

@silvermoon82 @alice @taedryn

I second the peanut recommendation. I don't know about crows, but feeding ducks bread is mildly bad for them (iirc they get gastric problems from too much bread and they are very willing to eat too much of it).

I just got some propaganda for the upcoming referenda and apparently

@timorl

Not that -ende is much better (due to the confusion with "end").

I just got some propaganda for the upcoming referenda and apparently

@timorl

So they prefer Schwimmende over Schwimmer*innen?

I'm amused by the various ways (incl. an impatient one) one can read a "when will you too become Swiss?" letter subject.

@b0rk If I UC that by "handled by terminal driver" you mean "... in non-raw mode" (otherwise e.g. C-V isn't) then C-H also is hanled by the terminal driver (also, TIL by looking at `stty -a` that C-R in non-raw mode is handled by terminal driver and means "redraw current line").

@b0rk IIUC in "cooked" mode backspace is handled by the terminal and you get input only in full lines.

@delroth But what caused them to continue falling after their center of gravity was <50cm off the local floor? Unless they were rolling around their long axis, how would they gain enough energy to topple once more?
