@nita @gokuldas @mastodonindians Absolutely.

I.N.D.I.A basically has gifted BJP the 2024 election, already. Just imagine CPIM Congress fighting against eachother in Kerala, AAP Congress in Punjab, Delhi. CPIM TMC in West Bengal. Then they're sharing the stage and boasting about fighting BJP and fascism and what not.

How idiotic.

The horrific incident "happened", to a power-hungry, image-obsessed Govt ONLY after people noticed it happened. If no one had noticed it/video hadn't surfaced, the incident could have been buried to protect BJP's double-engine image as if it never happened.

After 8 months working on Mastodon, in particular on infrastructure for mastodon.social and mastodon.online, I have been able to articulate my vision for the future of Trust & Safery for Mastodon : renchap.com/blog/post/evolving

We need better tools to go along the growth of the Fediverse, and they need to enable multiple instances to work together on those topics and keep our loved network safe for everyone!

In the past I have been quite fruitful with daily challenges. Successfully achieved the 50 day and slowly creeping up on 365 day mark of the (@barefootstache@en.osm.town) with less than a month to go. Thus, I will attempt the daily blogging challenge.

The requirements will be quite simple for the begining and might expand through time:

- It must use `hashtag (XX/YY)` format. This has two benefits:
1. One can follow the hashtag thereby potentialy creating its own atom/rss feed.
2. One can filter out these posts if unwanted.
- It must be post ready before slumber. This puts the focus on writing rather than publishing and gives a grace period if no internet connection.
- If written on mobile, it must be written with the keyboard.
- It must be at least one paragraph or three sentences long.

This challenge was sparked after reading the article

written by @skwee357.

My total time spent on has been reduced significantly over the last few weeks.
From 10-15 mins day to 5-10 mins a week. Kinda miss that. The engagement there used to be deeper and greater. Such a horrendous way to kill such great communities.

Has this opposition unity thingy ever worked?

I remember, while growing up, there was the third front in 2009. The results were very poor.

Even this time too I think it will fail massively. @mastodonindians

Manipur: Silence of consent will destroy the Indian State

Silence should not usually be construed as consent but how else do we read Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s continuing silence on Manipur. In governance, indifference is a form of consent, bordering on complicity.

Comparing my list to followers/following here to what it looked like on #Twitter, I don't see a lot of people from #India, or that region of the world, here on #Mastodon? This is a bit surprising to me. I can't remember having seen any discussions on this either, so I'd be interested to hear why people think that is, or even better, that I'm wrong!

@shrikant @ngkabra Great! Which one are those? (Episode numbers)
I will download them.

Yeah noticed the format too. Though tbf I have listened to episodes that were 7 hours long. :P

@shrikant Started listening to it! Quite liked it! Only have listened to the episode which talks about Data Driven Decision making.

Think I will be a regular listener now. :-)

I have this habit of correlating different places/localities of different cities. Specially if I know the places or have stayed there.

So far, for example, this is what I feel about and :

Indiranagar : Salt Lake (not Sector 5, the older parts)

Bellandur: Howrah

Do you guys have this mental habit of doing similar things?

Request for admins: You might've seen this mentioned, but I wrote a tool to help people move their posts when they change instances.

It's still in development, but I'd like to hear from instance admins if there's anything about it they're worried might affect their instances, or anything that could be made clearer in the documentation to help.

The documentation is here: mastodoncontentmover.github.io

If you have time, it'd be great to hear your thoughts 🙏

(Boosts much appreciated!)

@Aman9das Haha nice! Did you buy the hardcover?

Can see you're from ISI Kolkata. Nice. :-)

@Aman9das Not hard requirement in any way. But Intro to Statistical Learning starts with saying Elements of SL is a hard book, many may not find it very easy and intuitive. So here we are with a more basic book. :P

@Aman9das Heard this is great. Have you read Intro to Statistical Learning?

@mehluv I did that to some extent a few days back (not thoroughly though), and also realised how my interests have changed over the time.

Kind of felt the same while unsubscribing to some old podcasts.
