When I lived in Florida I was shocked to see the Latinos there hated Blacks. They were the most anti-Black racists of all. And I'm like, your people came from Cuba a generation ago. That Black guy's people immigrated involuntarily from Africa. It's almost certain you have African blood in you. What's your problem.

Here in West Virginia, there are few POC but that's changing rapidly and should produce interesting effects. Here's it's still Irish versus Italians, hating each other.

What is it with immigrant groups? We're ALL immigrants. None of us are "from here". I'm fortunate to know that my DNA and family history place me from the shore of a lake in Estonia where my people have lived for 5,000 years. That's who I am. But now I'm "American".

Why does anybody care about this and why is it so easy to fire up hatreds between these groups? It's crazy. It's insane. And it's fundamental to all of US history.

I swear to God, these people who design web-based systems these days are f***ing idiots. Have they learned nothing in 30 years of web design?

@benny @lovelylovely It's not so great when the people are ignorant or stupid. This discovered during the Athenian democracy. It was obvious to the Founders of the USA. Even Charlemagne knew that his empire would be far better off with an educated populace.

Only despots strive to dumb-down a society. They know that a dumb populace is much easier to manipulate and control.

@ai6yr Agreed. Personally, I prefer stainless steel or bare aluminum pots and skillets. Although neither is actually "bare". It's aluminum oxide or chromium oxide.

@nomdeb I live in West Virginia. Haven't seen a masked person in years, in any setting, anywhere. smh
