I currently enjoy watching The Worst Witch on Netflix. The 2017 series, not the 1998 one. I did watch some of the latter on TV before, but visually that sucked.
I guess I like the concept of a witch academy. I mean, I have enjoyed Wednesday as well, and Little Witch Academia. Oh, and let's not forget Harry Potter, shall we? Though I enjoyed the books far more than the movies.
Might be that I actually enjoy stories that's in the real world but have a connection with the magical unknown. I know I've read a few great books with this concept, like The Dream Merchant (Dutch: De gevleugelde kat), and The Cabinet of Wonders (Dutch: De ogen van Kronos).
Mm, I think it might be time to revisit a few books I have. Got a little itch now to check out this genre again.

@LouisIngenthron No, I haven't. It looks like that isn't available on the Dutch Netflix here either.
@trinsec Ah, too bad. Maybe another streaming service got the rights there? I don't think it's a Netflix original.
@LouisIngenthron The only streaming service I can find available to us having this is SkyShowtime Nederland, and that's said to be atrocious and subpar subtitles. So, alas. Maybe in the future, I think I should jot this down. After all, I did the same for the genre 'bunch of old people solving murder mysteries'. ;)
@trinsec 2016 Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children was pretty good IIRC and it hits that genre. And is a movie not a series that requires a major time commitment.
@Amikke Just watched the trailer. It looks absolutely ridiculous, lol. Probably a bit too over the top for my genre itch. Seems available here on KPN and Disney+, neither do I have. Yet. But I'll keep it in mind.
Though the visuals of the trailer lightly reminded me of Good Omens, which is available on Prime and I can arrange access to that one. Mm, might actually try to continue watching that one later, because that does touch this genre as well.
@trinsec Good Omens is amazing, at least the first season I've watched which goes by the book. Which is hella impressive since making a video series from a Pratchett book in a way that the fans of the book like is legendary difficulty.
@trinsec Gaiman personally kept them in check to achieve that xD
@Amikke Yeah, I've read about that. :) I've seen the first episode at least but I need to re-access Prime, I guess I should do a call so I can continue watching. ;)
Oh and then there's also The Sandman, also touching this genre. Also by Gaiman. Right, I think I've got a few series to binge soon.
@trinsec Have you seen "The Magicians" on Netflix? It's about a magical school, but for young adults, so they're able to explore certain more-mature subjects that the kid-friendly stories can't. The quality is a little uneven, but overall, it's pretty good and has some excellent memorable moments.
