@furgar There's a composer, I forgot the name, who composed an entire suite and variations on a ground theme of another composer's concerto.

They distilled the fundamental notes and made a lot of variations of it.

Said original composer was so flattered he flew out to see it.

When I think about copyright and other forms of intellectual property and debate a band owning the rights to its works I often ponder all the rights..

When they play a concert or share their music via CD/cassette/itunes etc and the purchaser plays for their friends..

once that tune hits the air and my ears, is it really theirs anymore?

Its is a fact they wrote it but how can they own and control the rights of distribution to something that now exists in my brain.

I will never accept their want to imprint something to my mind and then control what I do with it, I'll be honest that they wrote it.

if record companies or profiteers take issue with this, I see this as their logic being broken along the line of a complex system with a confirmation bias motivated by domination and greed.

If they were in hard times and asked for gratis I would take no issue supporting them if I had funds.

If someone wanted to setup a gratis system for distribution, I also take no issue with that.

If they want to play concerts and make money for work, that's great!

To enforce royalties though is not good. Creating inequity for the poor and their right to art.

This is hard for some people to realize for its a battle of our times and not well defined but it is state enforced mental feudalism and a aristocracy and ownership of data that exists in our minds. Sadly even this system subjugates the artists often.

I refuse this system’s decrees.

does it disgust you when you search for a video's title verbatim on youtube yet it doesn't turn up in the first 2 pages of search results? then someone gives you the direct link and after using it, you can then search for it after that?

Eventually they will get better at hiding this type of censorship to.

Intelligent people are capable of amazing things when put to the task.

I think google has perverted its original value of organizing the worlds data and making it easily accessible.

@swiley

Agreed on that. I will oppose vaccine mandates in every way possible.

There is not much data to justify the covid vaccine mandates and I'll die fighting them.

The 6 points of advice I have given to many people in my life are pretty much what I distilled from baz Luhrman's speech (my last post). This is basically the advice that has stuck with me from that:

1) Do one thing every day that scares you
2) Don't be reckless with other people's hearts; don't put up with people who are reckless with yours
3) Sing every chance you get
4) Never let distance be a barrier, travel!
5) Never expect anyone or anything to financially support you
6) Be critical of advice you receive, but be patient and kind to those who give it.

A video of Koreans reacting to mister roger's neighborhood episodes. I have so much respect for Rogers, the man was a gem we lost far too soon.

being forced to take an injection against my will feels as close to what I believe rape would feel like. Hopefully I never can truly compare the two but, alas.

It has been determined that the kurdish people are more loved than bean curd, but less loved than cheese curd. To be fair its pretty hard to go up against any form of cheese and come out a winner.

What is your favorite kind of curd?
