@toiletpaper Unfortunately that's an small bridge to cross!
@empiricism The grid needs a stable **baseline** clean energy source and that can be easily and cost affectively be achieved by nuclear energy. There is corruption and special business interest in both industries renewables and fossil fuels most of times it's same corporation working for both sides.
In the short to medium term renewables alone won't be able to meet grid demand and we have to be realistic, the goal should to cut fossil dependence and reduce emissions. Otherwise we will be stuck in the hybrid fossil fuels/ renewable for decades!!
There should be a reliable clean and stable energy source. It can be done by nuclear if we fund safe and small modular design reactors, remove the bureaucracy, corruption and endless delays associated with those type of projects. It doesn't need to be 5-10 GW plant mega project, a one or two reactors 500MW to 1GW base line energy and rest can be supplemented by hydro, renewables, and battery storage. .
If you look at the current Europe current energy mix
https://app.electricitymaps.com/zone/ES?aggregated=true
most of the countries in the green in terms of CO2 emissions have massive nuclear electricity production and those power plants have been in service for decades(saving billions of tons of CO2 emission) they should be upgraded and maintained replacing those with renewable will create a huge ecological damage in terms of the negative impact of the current mining and productions of solar/wind farms on the environment damaging a wide land area of fauna and flora ecosystems.
A more realistic one decade goal would be mainly renewables, hydro and nuclear electricity mix grid.
@0 True, I find GitHub discussions helpful as well
@SpaceLifeForm it's a step in the right direction though

Je suis intrigué à savoir le chiffre des "décès inattendus" puisque l'article est payent et merci pour le sommaire des news!
@nldtmv @podcastaddict @adam Too bad for you the first hour is the most juicy one! 😜
@empiricism Totally agree, there is a good documentary called Planet of the Humans by Jeff Gibbs and Michael Moore (heavily censored Docu). It show case the massive biomasse scam and much more. It either makes your blood boil or cry out of desperation and lost hope in humanity. Either ways it's very informative and opens my eyes on a lot a scams and green washing.
@empiricism
> Typo correction "step in & permit"
That's not a typo, I don't assume collusion and ill intent by default, but negligence and unwillingness to fix a clear problem that's a major systemic issue in itself
@empiricism That's true, the current market condition are unfair and advantage the polluters since it doesn't account for the disposal and ecological damage of their products.
@fasnix @atomicpoet #nextcloud Social potential is very high if they get the implementation right.
