Good point,
@zleap He's quoted as saying '"In a world where data is everywhere and statistics underpin every job, our children's jobs will require more analytical skills than ever before,"' It very much reminds me of that 'Fatima's next job could be in cyber' fiasco. It's just a vague aspiration though with no policy details, so expect nothing to come of it before the next election in any case.
Since I use #Mastodon, I wonder why I dragged myself into the ocean of negativity on Twitter for over a decade. This social media platform is better for my heart and creativity.

#infosec mentors, what are some of the best questions you've been asked by your mentees? What are the unasked questions, you wish they'd ask?

Curious about the #Amiga AGA population out there, so I'll run this poll a few days. Allowing multiple options as well, for folks with more than one machine.
Amiga AGA owners (i.e., 1200 and 4000): What's your CPU configuration?
I din't see this, (need to watch later). I know he wants to force people to study maths until 18. The issue with this, is that surely different jobs require different maths skills, so if you go in to say data science then you will learn the associated maths, if you go in to Astronomy, medicine then again learn associated maths, but you learn as you progress through your career.

Just had a request for a "Share on Mastodon" button for a blog.
As far as I know there's no official "Share on Mastodon" button, but there are several third party options.
If you've used a "Share on Mastodon" button on your site, could you give your recommendations/experiences?
Just boosted this article in another post, but adding it here so I can make a few comments.

This is *not* the way scientific papers typically begin:
_________________________
We are running out of time. Ecosystems across the planet are being destroyed at an accelerating rate. The life sciences – once a field dedicated to the study of living systems and our interactions with them – are increasingly becoming sciences of the dead. Up to one million species are currently threatened with extinction, many of them within decades.
_________________________
It's a very good sign, however, an indication that at least some scientists are now ready to speak boldly and unequivocally about the greatest emergency our species has ever faced.
