What would be the difference between a space telescope and an observatory built on the dark side of the moon, ? would the latter also allow for servicing ?

@seldo

That is interesting So would this also be a reason the USA got involved in the first world war late too, They would have to recruit black soldiers.

Could be an interesting discussion, thank you.

An interesting thing I learned from Eleanor Roosevelt's biography is that Hitler used the USA's treatment of black people as justification for his treatment of Jews, and this was widely regarded *in the USA* as a reasonable point and a reason to stay out of the war: "we would have to stop mistreatment of black people".

@mustapipa

This sounds really exciting, we have the Nancy Grace Roman telescope going up soon.

Now is the time to start studying STEM, and include maths and computing in that, so you can really be a part of the next wave of science that will be taking place.

Thank you for sharing.

Because of the fantastic success of #JWST, now astronomers want even more powerful gear up in space.

They are planning the Habitable Worlds Observatory that would be even bigger and make detecting life on other #Earth-like #planets reality.

The telescope will also be perched at L2. Unlike JWST, it will be designed for robotic servicing and upgrades, which could enable it to operate for decades.

Sounds like a really good idea, voting can take place is all sorts of weather.

NEW: New York Senate passes #SB616, which would effectively rescind an out-of-date ban on providing food and water for voters in line at the polls, also known as line warming. The bill now heads to the New York State Assembly.

Agreed The unions already have minimum service standard agreements in place, hence there is already an agreement to cross the picket line if there is a life threatening emergency.

Strikes are not meant to result in the deaths of vulnerable people. People are already dying as a result of the strain the NHS is under, the strikes are a response to that, hence the are demanding better pay AND working conditions. part of the latter is to sort out the staffing crisis.

We get this from time to time where i am, or we see the odd single shoe on the side of the road.

Would be great to find the stories behind these sometimes eh.

Indeed, good job Biden has a team who can be trusted.

Don't pay too much attention to the "Biden had classified documents" story.

Classified documents end up misplaced more often than you'd think. The issue becomes a criminal one when they're NOT turned back over to the government upon discovery/request.

Biden's folks did exactly what they were supposed to do while Trump tried to obstruct efforts to secure classified documents.

I never really thought of Auschwitz as a Garrison, but it does make sense if troops are stationed there.

Why? Or is this a ploy, he has been voted out, hut won't leave until a successor is found. Doing this will put off everyone with any amount of morality and decency, so Musk will stay in charge.

The conservative position on trans youth relies on a gut feeling that there's something weird or wrong about trans youth. But a trans girl using a nickname is the same as any other kid using a nickname, and it should be treated the same way by the school.
