I am from the UK and agree with this. Fedi is also the only place I am getting any news about what is going on too, nothing making headlines here in the UK. Unless people know about this, they can't stand up and vote to keep the GOP out of the white house. So the media is letting us down, oddly they will be the first to have restrictions imposed on them should the GOP win or I am at least making that assumption as they won't want people to know what is coming post election.
The best way to avoid accusations of Plagiarism is surely to ensure a proper list of references of any information or source of information is fully and properly cited. Article title, journal / website, author, dates, references e.g ISBN number in the case of books. And YES it takes time and effort.
I made a blog! My own little contribution to the indie web.

Surely, being associated with a person is NOT a problem, The issue is that some people kept associating with him post him being convicted as a paedophile or when suspicions became more than that.
Seems like as with Jimmy Saville, or Russell Brand, there is the usual gossip, but no one actually takes that and looks further in to some of the things that were alleged to have happened.
But have sites not been scraping data for years, I did read something about adding or removing a file from robots.txt to stop this. As per usual people on mailing lists usually talk about these things, assume others understand what it all does and hence never actually explain how to actually mitigate against this.
Surely there could be a way for us to add in hashtags or put in our profiles consent to this, as in explict consent for other sites to scan our posts and grab the data (or what ever the correct terminology is).
Make it clear to the AI bots / big tech that there is NO consent unless we opt to give consent, but add in it is on them to PROVE we have given that consent.
I agree
@luckytran i‘m sorry if I simplify this too mucn but the pattern I see is people utterly underqualified getting into positions of power. In my opinion, having significant merit in a topic (diplomas, work experience, published papers, etc) should become a hard criterion to get access to a position like this. I know people with less obvious expertise have made good decisions but less obvious does not mean none.
Billionaires
Face it. Everyone warned if we allow extreme inequality - billionaires - they would purchase democracy and turn everyone into serfs.
And here we are.
What is a Windows PC,? I bought a new computer, it came with windows 11. I didn't want or ask for it. So I dual booted to LinuxMint 21.2 and not looked back. Microsoft seem to be the usual arrogant big tech company who just assume we want their software.
Removing choice may breach anti competition laws?
I made an improvement for my writing workflow using Kate text editor. I can work through docs repos in Pagure, GitLab and GitHub without changing context.

5" or 5 1/4" I seem to remember the latter more than the former.
https://chng.it/YgFVF5KsWm here’s a link to a petition which is supported by local people and is against the planting of conifers on good farm land in our area of South West Wales. Two farms have been bought up already for this use which is for the imaginary carbon offset trade and will affect local employment, language, biodiversity. 🙄#ffs #cymru #ClimateCrisis
The hardest part about refuting Y2K disinfo is how many problems were fixed quietly, in part to mitigate risk of ligitation (negligence, etc.). People have stories they can't tell.
At this point, I think enough years have passed that a formal amnesty - to encourage companies to disclose just how bad some of the problems were - would be in our historical best interest.
