If our rich and elite are not careful we will end up as radioactive ash, and life on earth will then get a decent chance of recovery.

One of the most depressing things about the range of quiz shows on TVs is the number of men who profess to be interested in #sport & nothing else (and then go on to demonstrate how true this is through the startling lack of general knowledge).

It reminds my of Noam Chomsky's remark that if men spent the energy & time used up talking & analysing baseball players & teams' form, on #politics, there would be a revolution in America.

Here, football (especially) plays a similar distraction role!

I have spent a not insignificant amount of time trying to balance a stuffed toy chicken on my head today, with not great results. I hope you're all having a more productive and successful Monday than me.

What could possibly go wrong?

Significant portions of the Right are clamoring for a revolutionary leader who promises that he alone can return the nation to glory by violently purging it from globalist, leftist enemies and restore the rule of the *real* people.

Fascism is an adequate term for all of that. 5/

My research focuses on ice sheets and sea level rise which are often thought to be long-term and distant problems (they're actually not but that's another topic), but this is the kind of disruption that's harder to adapt to in some.ways. What happens to our food supply when Spain runs out of water?

Over half of #teenagers surveyed by Bernardos think that in 30 years time their lives will be worse than the previous generation

as Lynn Perry (from Bernardos) points out: 'it’s just not right that children are left to dread the years ahead instead of feeling excited about their future. We know that to be especially true for children from disadvantaged backgrounds'!

When I was young I thought anything was possible (it wasn't), but now the young see only a dark future!

Prevent referrals overrepresent Muslim communities with ideas of radicalisation based on racialised assumptions.

The Shawcross Review of Prevent adds to the increasing surveillance of marginalised communities while discounting far-right ideology.
