I don’t agree with all the doom saying about XZ incident.
You just know orgs are going to return after Easter and panic about it unnecessarily (they’re likely still on Redhat 6). It doesn’t impact them as it was caught super early.
Regarding the narrative that there’s nothing that can be done about these type of attacks - I also don’t agree. There’s already a change in the pipeline to systemd which would have prevented it.
The thing needs rational, calm reaction and response.

Having a summer election could clash with the euros or the Olympics, so may affect turn out, it was pointed out September students are moving in to uni accommodation, so registering new voting address could be problematic. They would be better calling it now, and stop delaying the inevitable thrashing they are going to get anyway.

The OpenStreetMap project is creating a freely licenced map of the world, based on how things actually are, based on how they act, and appear, not based on what some government says. OSM is trans positive.
