Doing my bit for #WorldAutismAwareness Day by posting on LinkedIn (mostly for people back home) to not pursue ABA, consider not posting only about their struggles as parents of autistic children, and by providing a link to autisticscienceperson.com/

My job is done

@ChrisMayLA6

My Grandparents house had a water tank out side, this was above the outside toilet area I think, so a brick extension, flat roof, trhe water tank was on top of that. Could hold a lot of water and was ideal for watering plants etc during hot weather I guess.

Things like this are now seen as old fashioned but if houses were built like this we could all harvest a lot of rain water (esp given how much we are getting at the moment).

Sometimes the old ways of the past had good solutions.

The answer to the Q. 'Why is the UK facing water shortages despite record rainfall?' is essentially, we do too little to harvest & retain water, seeming happy to let it flow back to the sea...

As always in the UK it comes down to a lack of investment in infrastructure. And that is merely another reflection of the corrosive short-termism of our political class.

So, our problem with water is just exemplary of the omnicrisis into which the country has fallen.

What needs to happen to change the US Constitution ?

Angry zoom calls ain't gonna do it. The ONLY way to even have a chance at reining in Israel's Kahanist government and it's violation of every international norm for armed conflict except maybe chemical weapons is to loudly and publicly threaten suspension of all military and financial aid...

And then follow through with that threat if Israel refuses.

This is also the bare minimum needed to for youth and arab-american voters to pull the level for Biden in November. The lesser evil argument falls flat when the evil in question is a genocide funded by your tax dollars.

@20002ist @maxkennerly

Having watched eye in the sky they want to blow up a house with terrorists in but the young girl selling breed etc in too close so they can't do it.

There are very clear rules of engagement which the IDF are not following,

@fkamiah17

I think given a choice if your car was stolen, your house broken in to, or you were mugged, beaten and robbed, if given the choice you would want the police to investigate that over comments from an Author,

The ICC prosecutor and government officials are discussing justice and compensation for Ukraine

Ministers and officials from dozens of countries are gathering in the Netherlands on Tuesday for a conference on restoring justice in Ukraine, as the war sparked by Russia’s invasion drags on in its third devastating year.

If I was the US, I would be looking to stay out of it fully.

One of the things about colonialism was that settlers thought they knew what was best for people

Maybe we need to let Arabs and Jews sort it out, they once lived together with few issues (or seemed to) the British, the UN got involved and ended up making a mess of it. (or this is at least one impression I get) granted it was post WWII and complex.

The Arab League are perfectly capable of finding a working solution.

Perhaps accept we can't solve all the problems in the world

@squig@mastodon-uk.net

We can't change Israel from the outside, but hopefully with the anti-government protests taking place something may happen internally and very soon.;

@oatmeal @israel @palestine

As I said before

Or what?

Unless you have the threat of severe punishment, there is no incentive to change.

On the other hand, to assault a rugby referee you get a lifetime, worldwide ban.

Clear, simple consequences and they happen.

[cont’d] UK summons Israeli ambassador over killing of aid workers

Foreign Ministry:

[…] "I set out the Government's unequivocal condemnation of the appalling killing of seven World Central Kitchen aid workers, including three British Nationals," Britain's Minister for Development and Africa, Andrew Mitchell, said.

[…] "I requested a quick and transparent investigation, shared with the international community, and full accountability."

Foreign Secretary David Cameron:

"Israel must urgently explain how this happened and make major changes to ensure safety of aid workers on the ground," Cameron said in the post.

Yes when Israel nukes them back

@slcw

Agreed, it is going to get confusing and harder to remember what every stripe means.

I don't understand why we need to keep adding to the #PrideFlag. The #rainbow was perfect, and already included everyone. That's the whole point of having different stripes; to represent everyone in the community. I won't be promoting this ghastly abomination, and I don't think you should, either. We're sabotaging ourselves by going off the deep end!

After 6 years of absurd discrimination, Crystal Mason has been acquitted of illegal voting.

But she's not even close to being done. Now she says she's "ramping up" her fight for voting rights for Black & brown people. Truly powerful and inspiring!
