Good to see penalties being issued over mis use of the telecoms' system(s)

Have you seen this video tutorial on how to extract plots, curves and data points from images using #LabPlot's Data Picker tool ?

@labplot@lemmy.kde.social

Data Picker has been available in LabPlot since the version 2.2, but recently we renamed it to Data Extractor.

@Daojoan

Yeah, sometimes when you bury your self in a task, it can take over your thought processes, fiction be it the written / spoken word or a movie can take you away from all that for a short period of time, allowing you to reset and when you go back to a task you see it with fresh eyes and perspective.

@ScienceScholar
So going back to the AMOC talk, isn't this one of the things that science is concerned about as oceanic heating is going to have an impact on ocean salinity currents.

@dramypsyd

Have we seen evidence of this behaviour on here, or are people refering to behaviour on mainstream social media, which seems to be awash with trolls, bullies and nasty people just waiting to pounce on someone else, knowing they will do so with impunity.

What we do here is 'be excellent to each other' this threat reflects we do that we won't tolerate the sort of behaviour that is normal on main stream social media.

@robtherunt @ChrisMayLA6

The private sector, as we all know are only interested in profit and to get profit you need to ensure people are given less money but expected to perform then perform better hitting ever more unrealistic targets.

Hopefully labour can be convinced to bring back what we once had, as we can't send people to jail without turning peoples lives around, or (even though I am not an expert) they just end up in the so called revolving door of the judicial system.

@ChrisMayLA6
As somebody who used to work in probation (until I was made redundant in 2016 as part of the fallout from the tragic part-privatisation of the sector in 2014), I can say that there was a great culture of rehabilitation of offenders in England & Wales until the Tories tore it all up.

Our probation system was seen by the rest of the world as a model to be emulated and our overseas counterparts were just as upset and confused as we were when Chris “Failing” Grayling wielded the knife.

At the time, there wasn’t a single poor Probation Trust operating in England & Wales (all either rated good or outstanding), but apparently, the private sector would rush in and save us from ourselves. What a joke!
