@StevenSaus Ofcom and other regulators need to get to grips with this, and deal with these companies directly, in the meantime we need to continue to educate young people about this so they can deal with it, better, and also educate parents and and other adults in contact with children and young people so that they can help too.

According to one of the adverts for instagram on TV there are now better parental controls so that once set up, certain messages are blocked etc, so the tools seem to be there, it is up to people to set them up and use them in an effective way, so to be fair it is NOT really the job of social media companies to make people set these filters up, if the filters are effective, perhaps they can say the tools are there, did you use them, if not, why not ? if the content is there, did you report, if not why not ?

Surely if food is correctly labelled it would say product of the USA, and therefore give consumers in the UK a choice on buying it or choosing a food item, that is from the UK, EU or elsewhere.

Scary stuff, given Trumps buddyness with Putin, I would advice any personn who has spoken out against trump to live / work on the ground floor, that way if by some odd act of action you fall out of a window you are more likely to survive, how many of putins enemies have so far fallen out of a window?

The fact people think it is now law, is a reflection of a misunderstanding on how laws are created / passed in the UK or the failure of mainstream media to explain the process properly and I suspect another culprit is the army of self appointed 'experts' on social media, next week this group will 'experts' on a subject that totally different, and yet, social media users will fall for what ever they say.

Thankfully here on fedi, we can discuss the topic in a more rational way.
