Elon Musk has done a fantastic job with SpaceX, however given what has happened with Twitter and the abysmal treatment of his employees it will be interesting to see how that impacts his overall reputation and the reputation of SpaceX too. If all this backfires on Musk, it could bring him down to the ground with a massive bump,

Another reason for newspapers, profession/trade organizations, and other well-funded institutions to run servers is to share the load in a federated/distributed ecosystem. The burden--work, cost, risk, liability, responsibility--of this federated conversation we're having right now falls mostly on *volunteers.* Newspapers, magazines, unions, and others need to do their share for their constituents benefit. Besides, newspapers should be fostering conversation as mission.

Hello all #admins! I'm rolling out my own instance soon but having struggles since Mastodon implements its own reverse proxy from the same server, resulting in multiple redirects.
My plan is to move the reverse proxy parts from nginx to my own service where I host all other proxies. This is an Apache because yay.
Question is, does anyone else have the same setup and have a conf ready?
So clarify:

At least we can use this platform to raise awareness and point to evidence to what is going on.
The U K government has the legislation to bring social media / tech giants in to line, however when this will get voted on is unknown.
In the meantime they carry on as normal with users paying the price.
