tbh I don't care about quotes, the birdsite feature we should prioritise urgently is the ability to restrict replies, and to be able to do so retroactively; this would legit improve the experience exponentially. #FeatureRequest

Granted it is not perfect, but given what is going on with Twitter, Meta, facebook, Instagram and Whatsapp facing fines for data abuse, if we share some of this, maybe, just maybe people will actually wake up.
Even what is going on with Politics, is proabbly being fuelled, mis reported by the media, people have got to wake up at some point. I don't know much about Fox, other than what is said here on Fedi (and it is not good) so perhaps things will start to change, people must see what is going on in congress as a real frustration and a national embarrassment.
The fediverse is a force for change, even Tim Berners Lee wants, change, @aral is developing small web, so change is coming, just very slowly, which could be a good thing, as it allows more time to adapt and adjust things. 2023 needs to be a year of radical change and it can be.

McCarthy will no doubt continue to sell whatever is left of his soul to the sedition caucus.
While amusing on some levels, also becoming increasingly dangerous for America.

Data alleged to contain the email addresses of more than 200 million #Twitter users is being given away for free on a hacker forum, reports say.
The stolen information includes email addresses used to set up accounts.
