I wonder if the algorithems have something to do with this, we can't have the AI on these platforms exposing the abysmal way big tech treats people can we. Even if LinkedIn is owned by Microsoft, they are all part of the same capitalist criminal empires.
International students are dying from overdoses at an alarming rate, faith leaders and community workers say.
But BC’s government isn’t tracking the problem. #bcpoli #cdnhealth
It is strange how you can live somewhere but never visit places, that happens here too.
So movies such as Hidden figures are going to be worthless soon as they celebrate the contribution of Black women to the NASA space program and provide a real influence and role models to girls today. We can't let people be forgotten.
--Oh and Florida banning (banning!) AP African American history ought to be enough of a mask off moment to wake up anyone who thought this was about some kind of historically unstable, politically charged courses. This is the got dammed college board and all the most moderate of moderate and boring voices in history.
So cannon you could put balls in it and sink a ship.
I can only assume they want young people to learn literal myths and legends. Chopped cherry trees and all instead.
@cautionwip cool, well hopefully you can rescue some of ours and value them, Canada is a really nice country.

@zleap Some provinces are doing just that. BC has just launched a program to lower the barrier to entry for foreign and out-of-province workers, as well as providing bursaries and support for relocation, and Canada as a whole provides numerous means of procuring VISAs for nurses with a year or more experience.
@cautionwip If you add in to the fight visas for oversees medical staff to make it easier for them to come to Canada, it will help you more find good medical personnel.
Granted it won't help us here in the Uk, but a nurse who is working double shifts + and is knackered on on their knees with over work is no good to people anyway. Hence they are leaving, make it easier for them.

Where I am I in the UK there is a business group NO ONE posts, I have posted to the group than gave up.
LinkedIn does provide tools for networking, it requires the human element to interact.
At least on here that happens, but I have followed / boosted a lot of people with Phds, maybe that kinda explains some of that on here, the value of collaboration.
Years of underfunding, people are leaving on huge numbers (some going to canada) where pay is better but there is a better work / life balance I guess.
It is not all about money, under-staff = patent safety at risk. the government do'n't get that.
@zleap I've heard it's been rough for NHS users and that the Tories have been pushing privatization. Just awful, I'm sorry. :(
Good try though.
I just added another anecdote that I just remembered to the part of my book about web scraping:
"Somewhere around 2002, when I was in high school, my friends and I decided to make a song lyrics website. Similar sites existed but they were incomplete. I thought it would be simple to just scrape the lyrics from all of those other sites and make a single site that had all of the lyrics. I wrote a script to scrape thousands of lyrics from one of these sites, but my script crashed while it was running, and I realized this was because the website had stopped working. A few days later, the site came back online with a message: The owner was overjoyed to learn how much traffic they were getting, but they had to raise money to keep their site online to keep up. I felt bad about it, and we never ended up launching that lyrics site."
Now we have a career panel on what you can do with a physics degree. Julie Claveau (program officer) from the Canadian Space Agency, Lisa Glass (medical physicist) from the Saskatchewan Cancer Agency, Marie-Cecile Piro (research particle physicist) from University of Alberta, and Mia Scavella-Little (cybersecurity attorney) from Microsoft's digital crimes unit. This is going to be FASCINATING.
