I wasn't aware they were going to,
The Galactic Milky way arches over the Aurora Australis and Akaroa lighthouse. The winding path and the light central, the arch in the sea, the slopes and curves and the light from tens of thousands of years ago in the sky. Every picture tells a story, this one is all about the night sky and the absolute joy it can bring

I suppose banning abortion is a fantastic way the US can lead by example.

Sorry for your lose(s) I am from the UK and every time this happens, it is jus tragic.
If MAGAs idea of a great counttry is where everyone has guns, regardless of mental health issues and every day people get shot and killed including innocent bystanders, then they have a very odd idea as to what makes a great country.
To me, there is nothing wrong with the statement of Make America Great Again, if that meant it was truly equal, no racism or discrimination education for everyone of a high standard along with healthcare, and a country which innovates and takes the lead in important issues by setting an example to the world, rather than trying to impose ideas by force.
There is just no political will to improve things to that extent, the same applies to the UK too.

Do you love #selfhosting? What about providing service to the public via #Codeberg?
We are looking for maintainers that take on adding code search features to our #Forgejo instance to reduce the load on the existing infrastructure team and bring this project forward.
Please see https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/Community/issues/904 if you are interested.
We are looking forward to your contributions. Thank you a lot!

@alfredo_liberal@universeodon.com Has anyone actually thought about why the 2nd amendment was needed way back in about 1776 which is when the US gained in dependence from British. I am sure at the time it was so that if we ever tried to invade, the US could defend itself.
I am sure the founding fathers, did not anticipate guns that could hold several bullets, let alone guns that could fire 100s of rounds per second.
@Fayedray So how is this sort of thing handled in schools. Surely kids want to talk about it, should this not lead to debates / discussions on guns, mental health etc.
I think the US is possibly desensitised to all this carnage now.

Measles seems to be on the rise in the UK as well as various conditions relating to the virus that causes chickenpox.
At one time, children who had chikenpox were exposed to each other so everyone got it at the same time and as a result built up immunity.
This is all the reason we should teach science in schools and tell kids they can decide for them selves after being presented with science based facts, which they should base their own arguments on.
@vaweisman @Jaden2 Here's another memory: House hunting with my parents in Orange County circa 1970 (years after federal and state civil rights laws were enacted), I remember a real estate agent matter-of-factly describing all the various tricks and lies he used to keep Black people from moving into white neighborhoods.

Data liberation is the act of reconquering data held hostage by big tech. By copying them, reprocessing them, and making them accessible through the #fediverse. This is aimed at breaking their monopoly, and is an example of adversarial #interoperability.
I'm looking for help: we don't have a development team yet, but you can test a working prototype.
If anyone feel to contribute, in any capacity and skills, please reach out or spread the word!
Congrats, and you're a fellow OU student too, great stuff, onwards and upwards. as they say.
Interested in Technology, Science, Chemistry, Education, Fediverse, GNU/Linux and free software.
