I had a cover cd with kernel 1.0.9 i may still have it
11,964 Soviet prisoners of war were registered in Auschwitz, and there was an estimated 3,000 soldiers brought to the camp and killed without being registered.
The estimated number of Soviet POWs killed in Auschwitz exceeded 14,000.

Yeah, good point, it seems we are doing this AI stuff way before it is even ready, what you are describing should still be at the lab stage being researched.
Let's haul the big tech bosses in to court, as they have a LOT to answer for.
@petealexharris @quinn @ct_bergstrom
This reminds me of the S1 episode of ST voyager, EWx post facto, in that they can extract the memory engrams from a deceased person and have an AI give the testimony. So they are then used in a trial.
ST voyager was late 90's to early 2000s, seems Star trek predicted the future again.
I know from various CSAM discussions on here, that the authorities can now watermark (or something like that) any such material so it can be easily identified and removed. I fully agree with you, the technology to do this is there, but until the penalties are so harsh that people at the top of social media companies sit up and and take action I have zero confidence anything will be done.
@zleap some basic image recognition auto banning sounds reasonable. The problem is not unsolvable.
It's a terrifying development.
LLMs are literally designed to generate *plausible-sounding* *bullshit*.
They have no accountability and even less allegiance to truth than crooked cops—but they will be much, much better at writing the kinds of falsehoods that will bring a conviction.
Allowing police officers to submit LLM-written reports reveals a remarkable misunderstanding of what LLMs do, a profound indifference to the notion of integrity in the communications of law enforcement with the justice system, or both.
Given how readily subject to suggestion human witnesses—including police officers—are known to be, this is a disaster.
Yes, police reports aren't always the most accurate, but introducing an additional layer of non-accountability is bad.
@kangaroo5383
Maybe if we put the OWNERS of these AI platforms on the sex offenders register, it would get the message across.
Oh, and do the same for shareholders as well as having reasonable fine, say 1 billion dollars per image.
@PogoWasRight Dont beat yourself. You do great work, and we appreciate it.
They are still subject to laws on telling the truth in court, at least they should be.
It'd be neat to try to promote a film by making it seem like lost media. Put clips of the film on DVD or VHS in thrift shops and have someone upload parts of it.
Drop hints about the film being from an altered reality by having parts of ads from companies that don't exist and mentions of events that never happened in the commentary.

I agree that services should work togehter to best help people but how that looks in reality can be vastly different to what people think it should. What could happen here is a mental health professional can identify what the issue is, suggest a course of treatments to help, the last thing that will help that is a DWP work coach getting in the way.

Can’t work due to bad mental health? You’re a selfish scrounger with no self respect according to the NHS director of mental health Claire Murdoch in the Times On Friday

Seven years on from the Grenfell disaser, and we are only just getting the inquiry report. Granted we DID have covid lockdown for, lets say 2 years on and off so make that 5. I predict that this will conclude (among other things) the cladding played a part, something that the last govermment were meant to sort out, but too many arguments as to who is responsible / going to pay seemed to get in the way.
Since then we have had other incidents where cladding has been an issue. Only a matter of time before Grenfell 2.0 and more lives will be lost.
Have labour factored this in with the 'it will get worse before it gets better'? So while on the topic of buildings, this time last year the news was covering school closures due to RACS, this issue has gone quiet, RACS can't just vanish so the issue is STILL there.
