@DrEvanGowan

Agreed, I can see a lot of science people leaving the USA, when things start to happen, that people here warned about we can say 'told you so' not just climate related but the stuff about schools, abortion, LGBTQIA+ attacks etc etc, oh and mass deportations

Will be interesting to see what happens to Harry and Megan, that is what will hit the headlines.

@xavier_hm

I think so yes, there is also loops which is more for short videos that is a pixelfed project but loops is very new @loops

@ravirockks @bert_hubert

You can tell by the way the audience claps at speeches by the NK leader, everyone claps in the same way, same speed. Contrast that to most other countries and people clap in their own way, Just an observation, maybe I read in to that the wrong way, but it is interesting.

@ravirockks @bert_hubert

It seems that some of the NK troops managed to shoot some russian troops, friendly fire, none of them want to be there, there is a differerence between an army of conscripts and people who sign up as they want to be in the army.

@ravirockks @bert_hubert

China has modern weaponry, it seems Russia still has old soviet stuff,

@malwaretech

I am not american, i can still see there is a clear choice between what Trump represents and what Harris represents, but that won't help as I can't vote. I just hope for everyones sake enough Americans understand and vote Harris.

In which case, I also hope there is a good plan in place should Harris win, as Trump won't accept it and will claim it was rigged, which could lead to violence to try and gain power that way.

@realTuckFrumper

At first glance you jump to a GOP victory, then need to remember that the north east has 13 states that are quite small so would add to the overall total of states the Democrats would win in that prediction would push the blue higher than red.

@alice

I have ticked several here, however different categories could have a content warning for different reasons. In some ways a long post, if we know it is a long post then we can either read there and then or save till later ( when we have more time ) other issues we can be in the right frame of mind, a bad or good day at work could result in you seeing a mental health issue differently and reaction can change accordingly.

Elon is fulfilling requests from China for communications blackouts over Taiwan. This request came via Putin.

All of his government contracts and his security clearance must be revoked.

@gsuberland

I have boosted, best of luck finding a new role.

I'm looking for a new job doing security assessments / research.

I spent the last 6 years building advanced security assessment capabilities around hardware/IoT, industrial, marine OT, and x86 platforms. Before that I spent 5 years as a pentester. I excel at weird and novel stuff with no template.

I'm in the UK and I'm looking for a remote full-time role.

Please get in touch if you know of any available roles! :)

Well, we saw what speed in favour of correct/robust procedures did around the Covid procurement process (fraud enabled & colluded with), and now while the Tories were still in power we find that the same sort of thing happened with the cladding funds.... a £500,000 fraud seems to have been perpetrated on the public funds.

There is a reason that processes need to be followed & whatever the Tories might think its not all jobs for bureaucrats!

@nicol

People here have been calling out genocide in Gaza for months.

I think I’ve asked about this before, but I am seeking recommended Mastodon accounts to follow for fun content related to consumer tech, science, or maybe world or US politics. Please let me know what y’all like!

@pomaranc This was mentioned in the 4th episode of the Solar System series on BBC 2 with Professor Brian Cox.

@IAmSpartacus

What happens if the Republicans win both the house and senate?

@cynblogger

The whole journey is fantastic, lots of hidden gems, water falls adnj wide open spaces, at the time there were still grain silos on the side of the track, these were sadly being removed, a sign of the time times moving fowward, not sure if any have been left up as monuments to the past, would be nice as they a window on the past. Jasper is nice, not that I was there long as it was just a refresh stop so the train could refuel and restock etc I think.

I could go up in to the observation car and get a 360 degree view, but also talk to pther passengers who had their own stories as to where they were going.

4 days from Toronto to Vancover, well worth the time taken.
