Yes, Trump jas proven anyone can run for office and will probably make laws or change the constitution so anyone can run

@olives

The nspcc report says that snapchat is top app for child grooming, big tech HAS to do something about this and protect users far more. The EU needs to stand it's ground and make robust laws to force big tech to act, but also perhaps have other laws so that if children or anyone comes to harm, then big tech bosses will be held to account.

We may not be able to arrests, charge, prosecute and jail us citizens at the top, but if the boss of the UK office is a UK/EU citizen we can throw the full weight of the law at them.

@guardian

It would not surprise me if Musk, runs for President in 2028, a scary prospect, but one that can be countered if the Democrats can plan and put a very strong campaign together to deal with this or a similar situation, as Bezos or Zukerberg may do the same.

@billyjoebowers

Or blame the system that fails to teach about Nazis and waht they did, their reasoning and how that led to them gaining power. We HAVE to learn from history, regardless of how difficult or painful it is.

@dominiksteiger

I have (and suggest others do the same) downloaded and saved that screenshot of the newspaper, given what has happened to the internet archive, there is alwatys a danger that there will be take down lawsuits for any negative press on Trump (as in that that tells the truth). We know the internet is under threat, lets make sure we can preserve what is important.

@Andy_European

It seems David Lammy spoke the truth about Trump a while back, but the new tory leaer (Kemi something or other) called this out as if to say he said the wrong thingk by saying Trump is a Racist among other things, Lets praise Lammy for saying what needed to be said, sadly the rest of politics seems to want to defend trump. Says it all.

We are very happy to present you with GIMP 3.0.0 RC1! 🥳

This is our first release candidate for what will be GIMP 3.0.0. Now is the time for everyone to test!

It is the result of years of work. I'm sure it still has many bugs (and you should report!), but we hope you will still appreciate the new version. 🤗

I would assume Andrew Jackson could actually spell stolen properly, rather than Stollen.

Apparently Trump intends to deal with the mexican drug cartels, a bad move, but if you move to Mexico you risk getting caught up with what ever he plans to do.

Question on the chase (uk quiz show) to day asked accoriding to a vanity fair article (1990), whose wife claimed her husband slept with a book of hiters speeches,

The answer was Donald Trump,

The chaser commented that it was about the time people started to realise Donalds Reputation.

Normally this would not cross my mind, But it was Today of all days, Co-incidence eh, and rather spooky one.

I just hope that any Trump supporters watching, wake up to that question and answer,

SLEPT WITH A BOOK ON HITLERS SPEECHES.

This does however explain some of his rhetoric.

"When Musk announced his intent to purchase Twitter, in April 2022, the New York Times columnist Ezra Klein aptly noted that “Musk reveals what he wants Twitter to be by how he acts on it.” By this logic, it would seem that X is vying to be the official propaganda outlet not just for Trump generally but also for the “Great Replacement” theory, which states that there is a global plot to eradicate the white race and its culture through immigration" theatlantic.com/technology/arc

It really has been a shitty year for Internet Archive; Register didn’t even mention the music industry coming after them too. I am quite worried about IA’s future. It’s such a key part of the open web and I rely on it a lot for my own internet history work. -> “The two incidents continue an unhappy 2024 for the Internet Archive, which has lost a case regarding its right to lend digital assets, gone offline due to power failures, and endured other disruptive DDoS events.” theregister.com/2024/10/10/int

Granted this is the daily fail, but I find the part about Elon Musk interesting in this article

OFFICE OF GOVERNMENT EFFICIENCY

ELON MUSK

Trump has vowed to establish an independent government efficiency panel that would audit the entire federal government, an idea suggested by Elon Musk.

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1

So to Quote part of this section:-

```
He has not detailed how the body would function. The government already has watchdogs such as the Office of Management and Budget, and investigators general at federal agencies.
But Trump has said the Tesla and SpaceX billionaire would head the commission.
Musk was one of the biggest donors to Republican Party causes over this election campaign, and joined the former president’s watch party at his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, on Tuesday evening. ```
So basically if you have enough money, donate enough of that to the GOP, or Trump, you get a seat the top of a new body that is created.
Surely that reads as Corruption.
