@sjwrenlewis asks the somewhat timely Q.:
are the Right Wing press leading/influencing the Right wing - the Tories & Farage - or are they following their lead?
either way, public/media discussion on a range of issues has become almost a right wing monotone, with the a large number of voters now seeing their views & beliefs hardly represented in the media at all;
its looks grim for democracy & grim for those the Right is targeting.

Agreed, perhaps look in to using a nextcloud service too e.g Disroot, for some of your documents saved to the cloud, which is still useful if you are on the move, want to share between devices or want to share with colleagues.
With the nextcloud client here, it saves to a local folder which syncs to the remote server, and other devices connected. So you are NOT saving diskspace as such, but anything saved in that linked folder is synced. If that makes sense, same goes for items deleted.
Looks like #Microsoft Word is taking another step (after oh-so-many) to new depths of depravity. Your Word documents will be saved to the cloud automatically on Windows going forward
Even if you're not up to the full move of jumping to #Linux, at least get #LibreOffice and use Writer instead. Its a word processing program that works 𝘧𝘰𝘳 you, not against. #opensource is the way forward, not this nonsense
That to me is an excellent article, and makes proper arguments to counter statements made by advocates of the technology.
I love it when an expert gets really riled up.
A long, long read, but well worth the time.

Feel free to share here, as I doubt most main stream media outlets will either report or report what the paper actually says or importantly concludes, we can read ourselves, happy to put a link on my website too.

This looks cool, I will share
The Green Party has the same number MPs as Reform. The Green Party has policies that will benefit the country and make the world a better place.
The Green Party should get at least equal airtime and column inches as the vacuous, loud-mouthed divisive Farage.
Message to the media: stop promoting the fascists.

Scotland's birth rate falls to lowest level since 1855
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c209en3zwyko
If the Birth rate is falling in other UK countries, it is going to pose a real problem, if Reform decide to mass deport something like 600,000 people over 5 years.
A lower birth rate surely means there will be gaps in the work force year on year, so less pepple working, less people paying taxes, and less income to fund public services, granted some of this will be mitigated by lower school populations.
Are reform factoring this in to their calculations?

IMPORTANT UPDATE:
🇨🇿 Czech Republic is now OPPOSED to Chat Control, as announced by Prime Minister Petr Fiala:
"On behalf of myself and the entire TOGETHER coalition, I want to say clearly: we will not allow the monitoring of citizens' private correspondence. We do not agree that any emails or messages on platforms such as WhatsApp or Messenger can be monitored. Protecting our children is important, but we have to do it differently."
This now leaves eight undecided member states.

LinkedIn has removed hate speech protections for transgender individuals and no longer lists “misgendering or deadnaming of transgender individuals” as prohibited conduct. This is unacceptable. Stand up against corporate complying-in-advance - see an open letter you can sign, and other suggestions.

ChatGPT just told me this: "in my experience, AirPods Pro 2, Sony WF-1000XM5, and Bose QuietComfort Ultra earbuds are best for maintaining solid bluetooth connections in urban environments."
IN MY EXPERIENCE!? Think what you mean is "based on the mountains of data and user reports I scraped but didn't cite."
These continuing attempts to humanize AI are getting disturbing. But what really gets under my skin is that it probably works on a ton of people out there, and endears the AI to them.
Lol
The last time I had to call tech support I was helping a friend out, whos internet connection wasn't working OS Win XP (so quite a while ago)
I checked connections etc, then booted Kanotix, internet was fine, so we called the ISP, and I told them what I had done, they told me to call MS tech support, which we did, told them the same thing and they helped me fix it.
I often wonder what the tech person at the other end was thinking when I told them what I had done my end.
