@zleap @admin @rolle Pretty much. I’m not sure what the odds are that a case gets accepted & worked on. I’ve filed several reports yrs ago & got zero results. Some cases get enforced & it’s published here: https://www.enforcementtracker.com/ perhaps to maintain the façade that the GDPR is successful. The #GDPR seems to just be a tool to make ppl less resistant to the #digitalTransformation.
@zleap the difference versus a Turing test is that in the Blade Runner world, the "androids" are designed without the ability to have human feelings, and the Voight-Kamff test is designed to test emotional response. So, basically they can pass a Turing test - they can have a normal human conversation - but if you check things like pupil dilation and heart rate when asking them an emotional question you can tell they're not human.

Careful before blocking newsie(dot)social! They’re also hosting Doctors without borders.
It is absolutely essential that Doctors without borders stay available to the widest audience possible. They’re new both here and on bluesky and re-gaining their audience is already hard enough to not fediblock them on top of that.
Whatever you decide to do, please be sure to not harm their work.

On Monday, I wrote an essay about climate and biodiversity for Scientific American. I tracked proportional engagement, calculated as (likes + shares + comments)/followers, over six social media platforms.
The winner? MASTODON, by a landslide.
Second place? INSTAGRAM. It's harder to share posts on IG, but lot of people like things there!
The loser? FACEBOOK, also by a landslide. On Facebook, I've been shadow-banned since August 2018 when they listed clean energy and climate as "socially sensitive topics" so my page there stopped growing 6 years ago and now only about 1% of my followers there ever see my posts. It's actually too bad, because that's the platform where I reach the most conservative audiences through their connections to friends and family. So even though it's dead last, I still persist.
Tom Baker is trending, hence resharing his biggest Doctor Who memory:
"I remember a man stopping me in Oxford Street once, looking at me with absolute incredulity.. 'You know, when I was a boy, I was in a home for children; nobody wanted us, you know? It was terrible. And you made Saturday night good.' And I went to say something to him and I could see him so close to tears that he couldn't speak. And he shook his head and he just did a.. thumbs up. It's incredible, isn't it? Just a gesture."
Physicist and astronaut Sally Ride was born #OTD in 1951. She was the first American woman and the youngest American in space. After NASA she worked on arms control and physics, investigated the Columbia and Challenger disasters, and promoted STEM through Sally Ride Science.

@zleap as I try to explain it, when the big bang happened, space expanded in all directions, so 25 billion light years is us on this side looking at the space in the opposite direction? I think.. Shares an aspirin with you.
@zleap even if they’re armed. They’re kids. There’s non lethal solutions.
Aderrien Murry is 11

One offcier kicked the door. His mom answered and told them the intruder was gone–she then told them her 3 kids were home
Officers demanded anyone in the house show themselves, hands up
That’s when an officer shot Aderrien

This isn’t a bad apple
It’s an entire bad system.

A supermassive black hole discovered at the heart of an ancient galaxy is five times larger than expected for the number of stars it contains, astronomers say.
Researchers spotted the immense black hole in a galaxy known as GS-9209 that lies 25bn light-years from Earth, making it one of the most distant to have been observed and recorded.
