The probe is 163.163 Astronomical Units from the Sun. That's 24408837426 km, and counting (rather quickly at that).

NASA can work around hardware issues in a 46 year old device in outer space. What does that say about the commercial hardware and software industry?

I'm going to rant about open source a little, I am so sorry.

So much of open source favors people that ~ have time ~ That usually means:

- They aren't caretakers (i.e. they don't have children or elder family that have care needs) or can rely on a partner to do all of that in their stead.
- They can work long hours outside of their 9-5 jobs which excludes many Disabled people or those that have chronic pain.
- They already have a high paying job, they have health insurance.

Yes, you should speak with the right balance of simplicity and expressiveness for your audience. You should not be unnecessarily complex.

The problem is, whose definition of complexity / simplicity are we using? This is the same question that tech faces when writing code!

Eg, Is recursion unnecessarily complex? How about higher order functions? Closures?

What's the right balance of expressiveness and readability? It depends a lot on the expected experience of the team. Eg, 2nd grade kids.
