Many years later, a panel of glass was set into the ground to mark the spot. It’s a window. Leaning over you can look into a room below. The room is white, lined from floor to ceiling with plain shelves—an empty library. The sort of world we’d live in if the fanatics had won.

Today, President Biden will sign the Respect for Marriage Act. It will nullify the odious act known as DOMA, which had enshrined anti LGBTQ+ prejudice and discrimination into law.
Federal recognition of same sex marriages, by statute, is an important safeguard, but we must still do more. We must now enshrine the protections of Obergefell into law, so that no state can deny same-sex couples the rights and privileges afforded heterosexual married couples.

Teaching about asteroids? Free resource here - Millions of these are gathered in the main asteroid belt, a vast doughnut-shaped ring between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Despite how they appear in drawings, each asteroid is generally many miles away from the next asteroid. (Not like the asteroid belt as seen in Star Wars movies!)
