Just skim read the Labour Manifesto for #GE2024.

An awful lot of words vaguely sketching out plans but very very little in the way of concrete proposals to address the many crises we face.

Strikingly they won’t repeal #VoteID laws the Tories brought in to suppress voting — they’ll just make it easier for veterans to get hold of ID🤷‍♂️

Given the state we’re in it’s clear to me now more than ever that Labour aren’t up to the job.

Megaconstellations like Starlink will increase atmospheric aluminum oxide amounts to 646% over natural levels ( +360 metric tons / year ).

It will take up to 30 years for the aluminum oxides to drift down to stratospheric altitudes, where 90% of Earth's ozone is located.

Once there aluminum oxide will act as a catalyst with chlorine harming the ozone layer.

A group of small farmers, crofters and crafters located in the Scottish Highlands have started Highland Wool CIC, to support a sustainable wool industry in Scotland.

My friend Donna has set up this fundraiser to buy & refurbish a wool picker, a carding machine, and assorted other pieces of equipment. They will also renovate a 200+ year old dilapidated stone barn and transform it into a mini-mill which uses sustainable energy.

I once gave my grandmother this book. She liked it so much, that she bought it for three other people.

Being married to a printer driver developer at IBM, she experienced the development of computers and the internet up close. As soon as her kids were old enough for her to have some time to pursue her own interests, she got into politics. In the nineties, as a side project, she set up an online newsletter about women's rights, and set up the database to manage the subscribers.

She died just over a year ago, and I found the book at my parents' place recently, after moving back home from Singapore. Guess my mom kept it while clearing out my grandmother's place.
