I am not blocked, I just can't follow. I can still subscribe and interact, so not much practical difference.
You were prolly grandfathered in because you followed before the recent kerfuffle.
@EubieDrew @obi There is no 'grandfathering in'. If that instance would block Qoto, you'd get unfollowed automatically.
That said, I managed to follow her too, so it's nothing weird here.
Okay, I deleted the original toot at the top of this thread because I thought I fixed it.
I WAS WRONG.
I only fixed it for thunberg, all the other accts went back to "Awaiting Approval" with the follow button changed to "Cancellfollow request" and timer icon shows up in the dialog.
The accts are all Black accts, some on big instances, plus the Tim Wise twitterbot acct.
I can still see content, not blocked. Not sure yet if subscibing works. I can follow all of them with my alt ub@mas.to

It might help if you mentioned the accounts, or at least the servers they're on.
And do they have a lock next to their names in their profile pages?

@EubieDrew @trinsec @obi hachyderm unblocked us on their block list.. I suspect the server will unblock us next time it syncs with that, but I'm not sure... botsin.space had us unblocked but they may have reblocked us recently or something, their admin is twitchy, you need to check there.
The others I have not heard of before. In all cases its best to check first if they have us blocked.
Wait, arent all those bot servers except 2 of them... the bot servers yous hould be subscribing and not following, not need to follow.

You just wouldn't be able to interact, and that includes following.
If a server suspends you you can still see content (and thus why subscribe works).. they just wont hear you if you talk to them (which doesnt matter with bot accounts)

Yeah, the that I did do there have changed to waiting for approval, but they weren't that way an hour or so ago, they were both followed. Hmmm, I have no idea. Did you ask their admin?
