So what is everyone doing on the day we celebrate murdering a bunch of native americans, and then them being nice to us anyway so they feed us, and then we returned the favor by murdering the rest of them off anyway? Turkey? Turkey seems like an appropriate celebration for that....

@freemo @icedquinn When I was young and single, I celebrated "day I don't get paid to not work, and spend alone."
This year my wife's adult CAD son visits with us. It's not as a religious thing, just a pretext for family time now that I AM paid to not work a couple days.
I like turkeys. I think they're cute.
It makes me sad to think that so many of them die because of this holiday.
I don't know what God was thinking. Literally. I don't know.
I know what I think. I think it is sad that all those wonderful birds are killed. I think there is a lot of tasty food available that doesn't hurt anyone.

Long story short, God has a bad sense of humor. You can also tell by God being the father of the original dad joke.
For your sanity, don't think too far into it or you'll be too exasperated to continue carrying the flame.
