Animated Growth. I enjoy the stuttery movement of each branch. Much higher rez here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NviXXG4VOiA
Wow Sunday mornings in this feed are so nice, all these nature photos are so restorative and something I'm coming to look forward to each week.
When I see posts about "you're a failure and part of the problem if you turn away from politics" or whatever...look. I have a high-responsibility job, and I'm also a shop steward and single mom. I carry a LOT, not just for myself but for others. Every day.
I deserve some quiet moments of beauty to help me keep going.
So do you. Pace yourself. <3
And the highlight of the highlight was that I GOT TO TOUCH MARS!! Well...a very smol piece of it.
Who's a good little Martian meteorite? Yes, you are!
In 1925, Dr. Cecilia Payne completed her PhD thesis, described as “the most brilliant ever written in astronomy.” At a time when few #women entered academia, Payne discovered what the universe is made of. Her work began a revolution in astrophysics.
Dr. Payne-Gaposchkin became the 1st female professor & 1st female department chair at Harvard. Given most of us remember names like Darwin & Newton, we should also celebrate Payne. #science #space

My 1st-grader and I were genuinely confused while watching a video about the Antikythera mechanism. He kept asking if it would give the money back when it reached the end of the calendar cycle.
He had connected the concept of using computers to buy things and was surprised that the Antikythera, while a computer, did not facilitate commerce. What a good starting point for a conversation about computing.
@phildini Hi, do you have any tips on when to accept/reject signups where a user would be posting exclusively in non-english? How impossible does this make moderation? Interested in hearing your thoughts :)
I hope #UFoI goes well. I can already imagine the headlines if not
Fediverse Federation Fails Fantastically
Federation of Fediverse Freelancers Faces Friction
Fedi.directory is not meant for general personal accounts, there are already two directories for them at https://communitywiki.org/trunk and https://fediverse.info/explore/people
I'm trying to build lists of accounts that focus on specific topics.
This is why I need help with suggestions, because accounts that focus on topics are much rarer than general personal accounts.

@PlusPixels cool to find someone who worked in Wakfu. I was super into the Wakfu animated series. I played the Dofus MMO and the Wakfu sequel for a bit too. animations were always on point 😁
Hi there !
I'm a french pixel artist. When not animating, I mostly like to make backgrounds, sometimes with big monsters :D
Take a moment to read about Jerry Lawson. It’s his birthday today. He developed the first video game cartridge which revolutionized the gaming industry. He was a real genius. But we only hear admiration for the pseudo genius of the Elon Musks of the world and the Great White industrial barons. America would be NOTHING without the contributions of Black folks. We must promote our history because the truth must be heard.
A capable software engineer and aspirating (sic) cook. Also posting about space stuff (mostly NASA) occasionally
