@mngrif the health department has many jobs. Restaurant inspection and outbreaks of foodborn and other contagious disease are a huge part of it. It is usually a budget that gets picked apart because, who is lobbying for them? They really are working with what is "left over". Chances are, the condoms they have, have probably been donated by the respective companies. LS makes a broad range of products though, they have one called "Nuda" and "Ultra" are pretty thin. But it has been years so I don't have a good recommendation to offer. But hey NGNL!!

@Captain Funny story. In th early 1990's I went to a software development conference. And this guy gave a presentation on the coolest internet utility. He showed us Yahoo search engine.

He searched for "pizza" and came up with about 6 links. One of them was Pizza Hut with their early adoption. Then he searched for Beer. I don't think he found a half page of links. And the one that was like www.beer.com was some blank probably college dorm page. Oh, how things have changed. :D

@Captain that should give you all sorts of alternatives.

@mngrif seems pretty good for a free service. Depends on where you are specifically. Some of them are specifically aware of PReP

@Captain welcome, I have a link to some very intersting other ones, but it is on my work computer shows the actual search engines that google and the others actually get much of their results from

@Captain DuckDuckGo.com is pretty good, and startpage.com/en/ doesn't suck

but certainly there are plenty others

@cigarBGuitarEfx I would be concerned with having that much power. How about safety features?

@OpenComputeDesign @Ghosty @nesc @malin "Thorium Cheaper than Coal" is FB group dedicated to it, Thorium and Molten Salt offer quite a bit of possibilities

@cigarBGuitarEfx I would certainly have mixed emotions about that :)

:kentucky: hot take

@mngrif I feel justified, when a service person calls me hun or sugar or dear to assume their name is likewise darlin'. But I don't have the guts to initiate such commonality.

@TheGnuMaster to make such statements one must accept that at one time slavery was the rule of law. As was segregation. As was miscegenation. Homosexuality was illegal between consenting adults. (just so I am not just usign racial examples) but there more.

Just because something is illegal, doesn't mean it should be. Just because something is lawful, doesn't mean it is right.

Block me please!

Obviously, I am a very dangerous person. I ask questions to understand those who think differently from myself. I actually use some of the information I have gathered to help establish my opinions about things for which I don't have such already. If something doesn't make sense, I dig deeper to determine what I am seeing.

So yes, if what you believe is so brittle, and simply just uneducated repetition of rhetoric that you read off a pamphlet somewhere, then by all means, don't follow me. Block me. Please block me. But don't tell me about it. I don't need to know. I am not trying to change anyone's mind, or proselytize to some religious following.

I have no problem making friends with those I share differences of opinions. For years I have had many friends with whom I have had diametric opposition. If your world model doesn't allow for such things, then move on. There are plenty of people who want to live in an echo chamber with you.

crass language/imagery

@shrikefliesfree @LiseMeitner@spinster.xyz @Ari @mk @alex So much for the free and open exchange of ideas. Pray tell what should a person do?

So what's this common annoying kids party item called in Spanish then?
"Matasuegra" - literally: mother-in-law killer!
