@freemo I see your pinning idea works ok over on LinuxRocks, but not on this instance. I guess the UI here (which I prefer) is different OOB

@freemo I only have one column. When I click on Home, Notifications, Local etc... it changes what is shown in that column

@freemo so it is not as simple as just following it like you would a person?

@Absinthe

Haha, yeah, yeah :)

Heck, with support for Windows 7 and 8 ending soon, there'll soon enough come a time when *I* won't be able to run it either. [stage whisper] "that's why I'm learning python..."

But VFP served my career well for twenty-some years, and it does still run on a lot of machines.

It's the language & dev environment I'm still most familiar with, though I hadn't touched it in a while, so I saw this as an opportunity to fire up the ol' IDE again.

@bii In that case I would challenge you to try it in python, or at least the next challenge should be python. :)

@OpenComputeDesign I get you. Point is, the concept exists, perhaps there is no good reason why someone doesn't power a server from DC from the get-go. Does the computer need no AC though?

"I am so tired of people thinking they can just waltz into my room when I'm clearly listening to music in 4/4 time."

@bii Wonderful! Visual fox pro? I haven't seen that in a while. Glad I could contribute .. :) Unfortunately there is absolutely no way I could run that here :)

@Absinthe

Here's mine. I ended up adapting your solution for converting numbers to words, because it's more lightweight than the known solutions in my language of choice. Cheers.

@Surasanji what makes them mutually exclusive? Mix them all together!

Unfortunately, I see no way to follow a tag, but as long as you remember to include the tag in your post all that gets posted against it will be searchable at least.

I am still looking to see more languages, and/or feedback on the entries we have so far. Also, anyone you know that is interested feel free to share it with them.

By the way, I updated my attempt to have a cleaner output by building up a tuple to pass to the print statement so I didn't need multiple output lines.

And thanks @freemo for the gitlab space.

here's a term for you I learned a few years back "Secular Jew" labels tend to suck, but it one that I have found to actually work really well. I never knew it was a thing. Then I found that there was. :)

@OpenComputeDesign as the fine folks at Apple would say "Sounds like a tremendous third party opportunity".

I believe what you are looking for is called a laptop.

@yisraeldov @Ghosty it's not, it's worse :) depending on how it is taught. You need to learn all of c pointers plus references then add in all the smart pointers and other such fun. Just remember, suffering builds character.

When it is all said and done remember that in life there are no problems, only dereferenced void pointers to solutions.

@schestowitz he spoke out against them. Seems only right, when they have the chance...

@TheGnuMaster someone else posted this earlier, it seems to cover the current rms situation so here is a link make your own decisions.

@schestowitz there has been a pendular swing in this country on how women and their claims are treated. It has gone from complete dismissal even to the point of making the victim out to be at fault all the way to what we are seeing now where they are believed to the exclusion of proof. It will settle out some place fair to accuser and accused. Possibly without the amount of media as judge/jury/executioner. Until then choose your words carefully, and don't be a dick. :)

@OpenComputeDesign unfortunately freedom of speech for someone who presents as the face of an institution can be limited with how what you say affects the reputation of that institution. In rms case that is both MIT as well as FSF. Neither of which fired him or forced him out officially. He is leaving voluntarily and of his own volition, presumably to save causing any harm to either organization.
