@REX I honestly don't care about the pictures of the non politician fucking hookers and snorting blow. I care more about corruption from Joe Biden.

@dirty_hippie you sound like a GPT bot trained on erowid reports.

Setup Your Own .onion Tor Darknet Hidden Service: Ex: Pinephone SSH Server Hidden From Internet

@happymoomoo that's good! Just know that Tor is pwned by the big governments, so don't do anything illegal.

@lunasspecto same. Some guy actually came to my door and asked to pick up our walnuts. It's really bad.

@rok0 LOL at least he's upfront with what he's after

@moshguy its almost like we're in the middle of a pandemic that disproportionately affects older people!

@schlink for a book, I wouldn't use something markdown-based, I'd use something LaTeX-based. There are some LaTeX GUI applications, I cant remember their names though.

@atruehero@mstdn.social "Why do medical professionals receive outrageous funding for each positive case they report? Can greed have anything to do with so many positive test results?"

Covid cases are more expensive than a normal cold. They require a lot of personal safety equipment, special protocols, and more people. I do agree that there's a potential for exploitation here though and should be monitored.

Herd immunity would be ideal, but that would require a majority of the virus be exposed to it. We saw in Italy and China that if too many people get exposed too quickly, hospitals become overrun and people panic.
Also, other coronaviruses change very rapidly, so there's a chance that it could change too quick for herd immunity to fully get rid of it, just as the flu never fully goes away. The good news is that with every successive generation, the mortality rates of COVID will go down.

@atruehero@mstdn.social to be clear, I agree with you saying that if rushed, they hurt people. Many vaccines have absolutely helped people. Polio is gone, smallpox is gone. Measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus, all are mostly gone in the US.

@atruehero@mstdn.social "Forcing people to social distance over the possibility of getting sick when you aren't is simply tyranny."

One extreme difficulty with this virus is that not all people are very symptomatic. Some people just get mild sniffles, they may think its just allergies. But they can spread it too.

"Vaccines cause more harm than good. When rushed to market it kills people."

I agree with you 100% here. The proper amount of testing needs to be done before it's released, and politics absolutely should not be involved in its release.
I've told people repeatedly, that I'm not taking it if it's either released or announced before the election, while I probably will if it gets released afterwards.

@@atruehero@mstdn.social "The virus alone 100% could get though a mask. If this is so then how does it provide actual protection? All it takes is one particle to infect you."

Anything less effective than an N95 mask will not provide full protection. The cheap masks are mostly about catching the large mucus particles and getting you to touch your nose less. Also, severity of the illness is a function of initial viral load. If you reduce the amount of virus you're initially exposed to, you reduce your illness severity.

"Must we social distance ourselves from our friends, co-workers, loved ones, and friends?"

The extent at which you isolate is a function of your risk tolerance. Just know that if you get sick, you could unintentionally infect those around you. If all of you know that risk and accept it then so be it.

"Humans have survived eons without having to wear diapers on our face for in case shit happens."

We lived for eons without washing our hands after shitting too, but we learned not to. Regardless, we will have a vaccine too that will largely make the masks unnecessary.

@atruehero@mstdn.social companies put those labels on because they're needlessly anxious about being sued from some ninny who wears the mask and gets sick.

The virus alone 100% could get though a mask. However, the vast majority of viral particles are shed into and expelled in mucus particles, which are largely(but not completely) stopped or slowed down by a mask.

@atruehero@mstdn.social it makes no sense, lol

@Dawnz I agree. Accelerationists who say they look forward to a civil war are fools who haven't studied history or really understand the true cost of such an event. Trouble is that I don't see an avenue for change through the system. We need to move to a multi-party system to allow for more nuanced views to be viable, but that would require a constitutional amendment which neither side is incentivized to make.

@Dawnz no, they've been lied to by academia and institutions of power that racism is more than just discrimination due to race.

When I was raised, I was told that we should be judged not by the color of our skin but the character of our heart. Color blindness was the goal. Now because I don't think that people of certain races deserve special treatment, I am considered racist.

I've come to realize that politics and history is only based off of power and that which can be leveraged. The hijacking of the political system by zealots(on both sides!) I fear will be our doom.

@ElfLord talk politics, its a good way to have a few fights before being muted by most people, lol

@paul_schmehl Trump himself wouldn't even take HCZ stuff when he got sick. Zinc is a good idea though.

@knimetnasaleumas yeah, its happening in the middle of a pandemic, a recession slated to be worse than the Great Depression, and a constutional crisis about the Supreme Court. Shit's serious, lol
