This is the way headlines are supposed to be: the best possible summary of the major points of an article.

"Tesla lied to customers, blaming them for shoddy parts the company knew were defective". I can't improve on that.

Tesla is terrible. Don't buy their cars.

To be clear, choosing not to allow Nazis to benefit from the fruits of your labor is not "censorship". It's "disassociation."

Refusing to disassociate is, by definition, associating with Nazis. And if you don't see why it's wrong to associate with Nazis, then you are *already too comfortable* with Nazis.

Corporate mega-mergers: Killing quality, innovation, and jobs since before I was born.

For those arguing that the Colorado decision is bad and shouldn't have happened because it'll cause more harm than good:

Denying accountability because of fear of retribution is called "appeasement". It didn't work in 1940, it won't work today.

Yes, it's possible that holding powerful people accountable might cause negative consequences. But not holding them accountable is *guaranteed* to cause negative consequences.

So the choice is clear, from both a moral and practical standpoint: Accountability matters.

MAGA: we believe in states rights

KANSAS: we're refusing to ban reproductive rights in our state constitution

MAGA: except that

OHIO: we're protecting reproductive rights in our state constitution

MAGA: and that

COLORADO: trump is disqualified

MAGA: no more states rights!!!

14th amendment 3rd clause

“No person shall be… elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who, having previously taken an oath..shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof…”

Nowhere does it say

*oh, also butthurt republicans in failing states can block whomever to get back at democrats*

@annmlipton Imagining Trump reading a book is like picturing him riding a stationary bicycle. The only image your brain can conjure is a comedic one because it deviates so completely from everything we understand about the natural order of things.

I received a gift from a friend today. Opening this card starts playing "Never Gonna Give You Up". It doesn't stop playing. 1/3

Just accidentally watched a rocket launch into space from my back yard. life.

Again: if Thomas was a judge on any court except SCOTUS, this would be a no-brainer. It's bribery. He and everyone involved, like Harlan Crow, would be indicted.

But we're supposed to pretend it's okay because it's SCOTUS.

While I don't believe in wasting empathy on fascists, when I see people posting "fascists aren't people" stuff I feel sick to my stomach because this kind of dehumanization of people we hate (even if they hate us) is fascist thinking. Fascists are people, terrible people who wish or don't care if they do the rest of us harm, but still human beings. This doesn't mean we have to indulge them, it just means that when we dehumanize other people we are in the process of becoming fascists ourselves (no matter how loudly we yell "freedom"). Freedom comes with responsibilities if you're not a fascist and one of those responsibilities is to recognize that we're all human, even the people we don't like or who may want to kill us.

Even though my count is already off by over 30%, I still struggle to grok that the population of the world is not the number I learned in high school 20 years ago.

That... that's technically a hate crime, isn't it?

You know that feeling in (older) Bethesda games where you finish the intro and step out into the massive beautiful world full of possibilities and you just feel a sense of magical wonder?

If you want that feeling in real life, get cataract surgery. Stepping out my front door this morning was quite a breathtaking experience.

Since I only have one eye done at this point, I'm able to easily compare the two and I made this mock-up, for those who have never experienced it:

There are many modern tech inventions released these days that make me wonder "why didn't I think of that?"

This is not one of them.

I have officially begun my transition to cyborg by having a functional body part replaced with an improved non-biological man-made version.

In other words, cataract surgery went well.
