@design_RG @Sphinx Ah. That makes sense. Thank you.
@shebang Begoned.
@shebang It's your opinion. I just don't understand why you'd post that feminists are cancer in response to an op-ed that is specifically discussing the effects of the lockdown on women. That's like reading an article on basketball, and saying that basketball fans are evil because they aren't talking about football.
@shebang If you go back to the article that it's referencing, it's talking about possible secondary effects of Covid 19 lockdowns. There are also several articles on CNN that focus solely on the higher mens death rate.
CNN is okay on the Media Bias chart, https://www.adfontesmedia.com/?v=402f03a963ba , in that it is biased, but is generally factual. That said, it has a lot of opinion pieces, and those can be very polarizing. If you prefer your news to be mostly facts and with minimal bias, I highly recommend that you look at sites like Reuters and Propublica.
@shebang I'm not inclined to agree with you, but I am curious as to your numbers. Would you be willing to post where you are seeing the Covid death breakdown by sex, and what you are responding to that says that women are most affected? I feel like I'm missing part of the story.
@freemo Artificial Intelligence for the Modern Age aka the Big Green Brick.
@freemo Huh. Emacs has a mode for that? How does it store the entries? Textfiles? Database?
@freemo Generally, I don't need much in the way of formatting. It's the searching and organizing that I'm working on. I need a note system that will let me sort by date or project, with the ability to quickly create new projects, automatically create new tiddlers for the current day, when I start typing, and support a TODO list. When I get it working, I was going to bundle the tiddler set for my coworkers. If you folks want, maybe I can release a link for it here, too?
@freemo TiddlyWiki has been used for all sorts of notetaking...it's just, to get it just how I want it, i have to do a lot of customizing. I'm almost there...but not quite.
@freemo Favorite...oh, that's a loaded question. As cliche as it is, FFVII has my favorite of all plot twists. The remake is probably gonna make me very sad. Outside of that, I've very fond of the Breath of Fire series, and several of the PS2 Shin Megami Tensei games.
Hello. I'm new to Mastodon and QOTO, and just wanted to introduce myself. I'm a nerd with fairly broad interests. In particular, I play a lot of JRPGs, and have a nice collection. Regarding my technical knowledge, I'm a Control Systems Engineer who does a lot of programming. My current silly project is trying to beat TiddlyWiki into my preferred project tracking app.
Heya. I'm a child of the 80's, engineer, nerd, and frustrated optimist. While well-versed in many of the geeky arcana of topics, I am particularly involved in coding, anime, and JRPGs. Outside of that, I garden on and off, sew, and am actively involved in a long campaign to force myself to get some exercise. I look forward to meeting some new folks and maybe working on some interested projects.
