@lupyuen Hm. I'll have to see if I can get some out here to try. I was kind of a fluke that I got my hands on fresh jackfruit. I'd only ever hand the canned stuff before that. One day, I will have a yard and a little greenhouse. Then maybe I can grow one?
@lupyuen It's supposed to smell rancid, isn't it? Does it taste like jackfruit?
@lupyuen I volunteer to eat jackfruit for the cause! Actually, it's rather hard to get in Minnesota, and I really like the stuff.

@lupyuen Oooh...I can think of plenty of projects that I can get done with just digital I/O. Hell, I worked on a packaging line that could have been driven with this thing.
Hey radio and free-speech enthusiasts! Does anyone know anything about this? https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2020/06/voice-america-will-sound-like-trump/613321/
I'll admit, I never considered that we ran this kind of foreign-targeted news organization. I should have. But this is all new to me.
@comphys Okay. I'll give that a go. Thank you.
@compass_straight_edge I'm running the stable version. I don't have any other graphics issues, so I think that it's my browser.
Question: I run Debian, and have had issues for a long time with my web browsers. I'm currently using Chromium and Firefox, but they tend to crash, and occasionally have trouble running things like video. They're better than they used to be in the Flash days, but still not great. Does anyone have a browser that works better, or a good browser fix?
@lupyuen Chickens are kinda like vegetables. They can live without their heads for awhile.
@lupyuen Vegetable Soup?
@lupyuen That said, it doesn't sound bad.
@lupyuen I hate to tell you this, but I haven't seen a computer with a true serial port for awhile now. I was excited because my motherboard has the holes for one, but no attached jack. One day I'm gonna get brave, and solder a dsub in myself...maybe.
@lupyuen Nevermind, actually skimmed the article.
@lupyuen It's kinda a waste of a serial port, isn't it?
@2ck Yup. Shut-ins for a cause. \o/
@proto_azure Ah C, my old friend, my old nemesis....
Basically, it's not the PIC chips are harder to use than Arduinos. There are eight-bit PIC chips that are quite comparable to the small Arduino units. Unfortunately, that doesn't look like it's what you'll be using. These 32-bit chips look a bit like my old Motorolla. Lots of peripherals, lots of instructions.
Heya. I'm a child of the 80's, engineer, nerd, and frustrated optimist. While well-versed in many of the geeky arcana of topics, I am particularly involved in coding, anime, and JRPGs. Outside of that, I garden on and off, sew, and am actively involved in a long campaign to force myself to get some exercise. I look forward to meeting some new folks and maybe working on some interested projects.
