Okay, why does Manjaro ask for my user password instead of the root password when installing programs?

Connection to NAS established. Valentina fixed. Okay, we appear to be functional. I will say, there is absolutely no lag so far in this OS. Everything moves like lightning. So far, so good.

I found Valentina in AUR, but it keeps bombing out while trying to build it. Thoughts?

Alright, Manjaro is installed. It found my second monitor and wifi without a hitch, so that's a good sign. Dropbox and Keepass are working too. Now, can we get Valentina functioning? That's a dealbreaker, if it doesn't work.

@Sphinx Still backing stuff up. Spent last night waiting for all the videos to make it to the NAS.

@devharts @2ck @bonifartius If @lupyuen keeps showing me cool stuff, I may give up Debian for Manjaro, just to help get everything running.

@lupyuen Thank you. I might not start with it tonight, but I'll need the luck.

@lupyuen It's an Intel chip, but reasonably new. I think I like the idea of wiping things. I just have to back everything up.

@lupyuen Linux LinBox 4.19.0-9-686-pae #1 SMP Debian 4.19.118-2 (2020-04-29) i686 GNU/Linux

@lupyuen Maybe it makes sense to wipe it and make sure to install the amd64 version...

@lupyuen Running LXDE. I have the suspicion that when I set up this computer, I may have set up everything to be 32 bit. I'm no expert in Debian. I've run it for years, but when I have problems, I mostly just beat on it till it behaves. I'm no superuser.

Why do I have this sinking feeling than I'm gonna have to reinstall Debian?
