“Guardians of Divinity” is a group of far right conspiracy theorists in NYC who met via antivax protests.

Following Proud Boys invading a Drag Story Hour in CA, the group began focusing on DSH. Their rhetoric + behavior have become more violent in the past 4 months. 🧵 twitter.com/ebottcher/status/1

"Overreactions to uncomfortable facts about abuse even harm CSA survivors, such as the member of the Scottish Parliament who received death threats after correctly explaining that abusers are often friends and family members of their victims." buff.ly/3HMwBGf

As far as I can tell, the politicians are straight up lying about engaging with the groups asking to shelve the bill.

The new version is not better, it’s still extremely flawed, broadly targeting speech and using liability as a lever, which will backfire just like SESTA twitter.com/evan_greer/status/

"A world with improved access to support for MAPs, widespread knowledge on CSA prevention, and reduced rates of abuse may seem like a distant dream, but there are simple steps most people can take today to help make it a reality." buff.ly/3HMwBGf

The reason the right-wing use the word "gr**mer" is because they actually can't get away with using "p*d*ph*le" or "ch*ld m*l*ster." Those are the words they WANT to use, but they know that those accusations would make them vulnerable to being proven wrong in a court of law.

i want to be very clear as someone who was forcefully hospitalized by police, lied to and brought to a second hospital by police. this is caging, it's basically jail or prison. it can be harder to get out of - I never saw or spoke to a lawyer. for a month. twitter.com/nytimes/status/159

"Both child abuse and mental health issues thrive when discussions about them are silenced by stigma, shame, and fear. It is only by speaking up and providing a space for others to do the same that we can bring about a better, safer world." buff.ly/3HMwBGf

Sexual assault is preventable. If we treated it as a public health issue, we could greatly reduce the economic and human costs that survivors are burdened with, before they are ever burdened with them. buff.ly/3MUQjAa

To stop , it needs to be disentangled from consensual adult sex work. Decriminalization takes out of the illicit market. Clients shld have peace of mind knowing they are paying for a service that is being willingly & legally sold. decriminalizesex.work/why-decr

THREAD: There has been a fair amount of discussion about how, even with the changes, the (or ) would be weaponized against LGBTQ+ folks & especially queer and trans youth.

But there's another huge problem with the bill: it would censor abortion content.

Sorry to link to the #birdsite but I did a long thread there about how #KOSA (the deeply misguided #KidsOnlineSafetyAct) is a major threat to online access to #abortion information, fundraising and organizing.

Congressional leaders are deciding like RIGHT NOW what bills go into the #omnibus package. Anyone who can please reach out to oppose #KOSA and support actually good bills like #OAMA, #AICOA, and #ADPPA.
