I'm interested in being just not civil, but excellent in interacting with others of different viewpoints in an online world where we can so viciously defend our echo chambers and be so dismissive of other perspectives.
Because this is less and less possible here, I'm largely offline and am not sure if I'll be returning. It was fun back when civility was a trend on qoto.

The federal "shutdown" would more accurately be called a default. It hasn't suspended any functions; it's just stopped paying for them.
Standard business practice is that paying employees comes ahead of nearly all other obligations, but Washington has defaulted on salaries. The answer to this ought to be healthy distrust in the federal government, but it's just going to be more partisan battles with no thought of fundamentals.

Get a double edge razor and stop buying from them. Also it's a more manly way to shave. Probably less toxic too, since it doesn't create as much garbage..

A good example of the halo effect? If Trump is literally worse than Hitler then everything he does should be opposed... and he wants to withdraw military forces, then I guess the anti Hitler thing to do is engage in more war.
