@freemo This week I fell and broke my leg. When minutes of going to an urgent care I had xrays, a few hours later I was at an orthopedic surgeon of my choice and was in surgery the next day.

I have thought a number of times, I probably wouldn't have gotten such fast medical help if I were still in my country of origin.

(Given, I had to swipe a payment card at the surgery center and will be getting various related bills for a while, but my relatives in Canada across the political spectrum are unified in always complaining about how high their taxes are, so the cost issue is still there, is only handled differently.)

@ParkerTechGuy well.... I always loved running in snow. Until now. Tuesday one mile in I tripped or slipped or something, and twisted my ankle...actually broke my leg (fibula). Had to have a metal plate surgically attached, screwed through my bones yesterday and am in a world of pain today. 3 months expected recovery.

@freemo
Broke a bone, tore soft tissue, displaced another bone. Needed surgery and was under general anesthetic only 28 hours after the initial injury yesterday.

Amazing health care we have in America, but quite a bill....using up a lot of deductible all at once here.

My nerve block hasn't worn off yet so I feel fine now, but am having a hard time going to sleep, dreading waking up in a world of pain.

Recovery is 3 months until I can re start marathon training for my first marathon in October, which they think I'll be able to run. If they're right, it'll be a good recovery and a great story for my first marathon.

Taking some time off work... and maybe more as short term disability... I generally push myself too hard and given the option with this most severe injury /health situation ever, maybe I should take advantage of the time to recover better.

@CorrerEnGalicia

Taking a break from after breaking my leg on this morning's run. Fractured my fibula, damaged the soft tissue.

Demotivating.

@ParkerTechGuy I will go out but this was my long run day. Hope it's terrible out tomorrow for my jog. Feels much more fulfilling. Last winter I had a few times I came back with icicles on my face.

@echoteecat southwest Denver, only a dusting still. Seems so far like someone bought an the bananas for nothing.

Sometimes we still get the dump of snow and the timing was just wrong....we'll see.

@ParkerTechGuy went for 11 miles in Denver /Lakewood this morning. Was so disappointed to have no snow. Feels much more of an accomplishment to run in bad weather.

I only meant to go 10 miles... Took a wrong trail and backtracked thanks to the overcast skies hiding the front range compass.

After months of diet and exercise: "I wonder if I'd look ok in a slim-fit shirt?"

After one large-ish brunch: "I wonder if they make maternity clothes for men..."

@MountainJay I like it. Combining the two, the red Colorado C aligns with where the "Soviet Colorado" Would go.
