I'm not sure why you find my toot condescending. You said that people would get angry for your statement and I clarified that I think you are wrong about this.

People who know well both languages, will not be angry for your statement. They will just deduce you don't know well either of the two.

Also, I don't know how a picture or a bio in my profile could count as arguments about my programming skills more than what I wrote in the toot itself. If I had lied in the toot, why I should be honest in the bio (or the picture?)

You won't find much about JavaScript in my code, as it's mostly developed for my employer, but I'm the goto guy when people cannot solve a problem in JavaScript (or other languages) on multi-millions banking projects.
(but again, you can trust my words or not... and there's no way you could even know if this account is actually owned by the author of those sites...)

This obviously produce a bias in my perception: the vast majority of the problems I have to fix (after months wasted by other developers trying to fix or workaround them) are actually due to the dumbness of JavaScript design and it's impact on developers culture.

If you knew a little bit more about JS, I think I should not even name the garbage collector of IE: you would already know about the left-pad scandal of NPM.

In any case, there's nothing wrong into ignoring something and you shouldn't feel ashamed.

But I'd would suggest you to study a bit more about Informatics before comparing programming languages and framework.

Otherwise, any random internet guy could use your ignorance against you.

Not angry... it just shows you do not know either well.

I professionally program in both since 20 years (and in several other languages) and JavaScript is way worse than C. Actually it's the worse language ever conceived.

Let's put this way: if you are right (and the document you've read were authentic) and their ideals didn't last among their people after their death, they were blind to their people.

Even so, it was their people who created the world we know without violating their laws.

I think they should be held accountable for this.

But at the end of the day, does it metter what they belived?

They proved beyond any reasonable doubt that such kind of laws are going to be abused to justify, normalize and freeze inequities by the people of USA.

Thus why should we try again if they failed so bad too?

You can easily change the laws, but not the people.

Better to abolish a law that is doomed to be abused most of times.

Yes, I think we can agree: those founding fathers were very intentional with such laws, as they were with the American vision of freedom.

A freedom without equality whose goal is to let the powerfuls strive and the weaks... work or die.

That's rhetoric @freemo, not intent.

The sole goal of patents is to reinforce the existing power structure of society so that no innovation can suddenly challenge it.

Think about numbers: who is going to fill more patents claim? Who is going to defend them in courts?

Inventors (and authors, for copyright law) are just excuses to justify laws that slow down progress and culture just to maximise the profit and the power of the riches.
