learning about auto-piloting and over-thinking
as someone that didnt care much to want to be good at games until ultimate adfter paying $60 for piranha plant and gettign a free game, learning about auto-piloting and what to do and focus my thjinking on during a match has really helped me focus during matches on how i can actually win which has helped me also enjoy losing a lot more because i feel more able to learn about what i did wrong.

The idea that trans people as somehow fundamentally different from cis people in some way plays into the hands of "trans men aren't men" and "trans women aren't women"
It reinforces differences a lot of people really don't fucking want to be there
It reinforces hate against trans people
It's the same category of hate as "I don't hate /all/ PoC, I just hate the ignorant ones"

I'm sorry but you can say it's a joke or it's just venting but that's the same mentality as ironic racism
You know what you call an ironic racist?
A racist.
Same shit.

I get the vibe trans men and straight trans people don't feel very welcome on fedi
Very much "I'm not a bigot, I just hate /cis/ men and cishets" mentalities
As if being trans puts you in a different category and they're "not /really/ straight" or "not /really/ cis men" or something
The same shit cishets do to trans folk
"You're not really gay"
"You're not really a woman/man"
This really upsets me

Also, fun genetics fact – rafflesias show a large amount of horizontal gene transfer with their hosts, which is really weird because that's the kind of thing bacteria do. It's pretty much unheard of in complex organisms like flowering plants.

This is a rafflesia. It's the world's largest single flower, and it grows in rainforests across Southeast Asia. These big blossoms can weigh up to 10kg, and can grow as large as an umbrella.
There are actually 28 species of rafflesia, and all are completely parasitic. They have no roots, stems, or leaves, and spend most of their lives living as a little more than a bunch of filaments hiding inside forest vines. At least one species no longer has the genes to grow chloroplasts.
They're also pollinated by carrion flies, which means they're rather stinky.
"there are those people out there who are stupid and don’t realize they are stupid" Now don't be smug about it because "we see it in other people, and we don’t see it in ourselves." That is the Dunning-Kruger Effect. https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2019/1/31/18200497/dunning-kruger-effect-explained-trump
