For the folks who I accidently left out of this poll. Please answer here.

@pschwede
I agree with what someone else said. We must be more concerned with defending freedom in Hong Kong which is the home of over 7 million people.

Not giving up on Hong Kong and fighting for what right with everything the people have should be the top priority.

Combatting Chinese Communist Party lies and propaganda is just about as important. Let the truth be the victor.

I think that providing asylum to those who fear persecution should be granted as is protected by the Refugee Convention.

@pschwede I was born and raised in Hong Kong for 15 years pre-1997. Hold your horses on the idea of just giving out UK citizenship for free.

Like @freemo said I appreciate the sentiment of this intent. I wouldn't mind having the option of UK citizenship myself, but there's one thing I want to point out in addition to what freemo said:

HK rioters are fighting for HK. A citizenship elsewhere means nothing to them, if HK itself cannot be protected. My brother is living in HK right now and, while not actively rioting, refuses to leave even though he has permanent residency in Australia.

Considering the power China holds over the world right now, I don't blame UK only resorting to "virtual signalling" - they're doing the best they can. Handing out citizenship for free is not a gesture of care, when the one thing that HK rioters really want is not to live somewhere else better, but to save their own home.

Today I got promoted to IT manager position after my proposal got approved by the management to use multiple open source solutions and replace propriety products the company is using.

Tests went well and they were happy with the services. I will be handling the migration and training for the coming months.

To thank the wonderful open source community I will be donating a part of my pay for the coming 3 months.

What is your favorite European City?

Are you concerned about the situation in ?

Just to make it clear to folks reading my posts.
I retooted a couple of posts made by Avi about Hong Kong.
Outside of those interviews, I generally would not agree or even get along with the guy.
That said, it doesn't stop me from keeping my eyes open and my ears listening to everyone.

@freemo That's a bit pessimistic. Even though it is far more rare nowadays, there are still genuinely good people who have managed to get into government.

@tansy Not sure what you mean. I guess you have to watch the video to make up your own mind. Personally I don't subscribe the things that Avi says politically speaking outside of this video.
The Hong Kong video however, which I have "mostly" watched, does have good questions about Freedom in the PRC.
The style of questioning is more confronting than we have become accustomed to by mainstream media journalists, if thats what you mean.

We need open mesh networking now more than ever. More and more governments are using Internet shutdowns to gain control of the the people.

This will only get worse.

No one understands the threat China poses better than this priest in Hong Kong.

China is the biggest oppressor of Christians in the world, worse than any Islamic state.

If I were a Christian, I'd be worried too.

In case you didnt know, is a non-profit organization. Not only that no one who works for is paid, not even the founder.

Despite that we have a very generous donation fund. We can currently afford to host all QOTO services, give each user a TB quota, run on production level load balanced redundant server architecture, and still have enough in our donation fund to operate for at least a decade.

This is all due to the hard work of our volunteers and the generous nature of our donators. We do this with a pledge to no advertising and never selling your data..

So don't feel guilty, claim your free accounts and enjoy. We love to see how the members of our community enrich us all. It is why the volunteers like myself and the whole team do this!

Holy Shit the protesters in Hong Kong are grabbing the canisters of tear gas dropping it into liquid nitrogen and turning it into its harmless solid form.
