The Ambassador of Ukraine to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk, has announced that Israel is testing a new early warning system in Kyiv to detect missiles and drones. This system could potentially be expanded to other areas in the future. Korniychuk explained that when Russian planes take off from Belarus, an alarm is triggered in all of northern Ukraine. However, Israel has powerful radars that can determine the trajectory of the missile and activate a siren in the specific area it is heading towards. The siren also provides an indication of how many minutes people have to take cover.

For the period of February 22-24, secondary schools in Kyiv will be operating in a mixed learning format, which has been in place since the start of the school year. This format allows for distance learning to take place in parallel with in-person classes, giving parents the option to keep their children at home and connect them to online learning on any given day. Due to the ongoing conflict in the country, safety protocols have been put in place for all educational institutions, and all staff have been trained on how to respond in the event of an air raid. Additionally, all 404 schools that are operating in full-time mode have shelters that can accommodate all students and staff. It is important to note that businesses and departments will be operating as usual during this time, meaning that parents may not have someone to leave their children with, especially younger ones. The Kyiv Department of Education and Science urges everyone to follow safety protocols and not to ignore air raid alarms on February 22-24 and all other days.
