Also today is the first day that I copied an entire system to another with #clonezilla using the network. Well, just an ethernet cable between them, so you can get rid of those pesky external USBs or physically unmounting the drives.
clonezilla can be loaded into the RAM, so only one device is required for booting each computer.
Not my cup of tea (windows), but I have just checked that I can successfully use my #nitrokey hardware key for establishing ssh connections with the excellent #putty, #mobaxterm and #gpg4win.

Worth mentioning: PostmarketOS @postmarketOS and Plasma Mobile @plasmamobile.
new major releases are rolling now with better handling of contact requests, concurrent multi-account support on all platforms and better connectivity/quota info ... and thanks to @NLnetFDN@twitter.com and @NGI_DAPSI@twitter.com for funding much of the improvements :) https://delta.chat/en/2021-08-24-updates

He got it remarkable precise in hindsight. However, I'd say he got it wrong when it comes to #digitalnatives . On average, IT knowledge is rather poor. Only a tiny minority of geeks and hackers know how to do cool stuff. The majority is only using big tech interfaces, not knowing what happens with their data. #education
@Pat many times acronyms are used to draw away strangers, but this time NFTs were widely named by the media as NFTs. Anyway, "Non-fungible Token" is clear as mud the first time one sees it.

@freemo I usually thought like that, but in the end I came to the conclusion that a paper stands by itself. You don't have to be an expert to judge it, after all, papers are not light reads and require a big effort to the reader to fully understand it, therefore uncovering the possible mistakes it could have.
It does however require an expert to improve and advise the authors about their work, but this process is already shown in the published version of the paper.
Publishing the whole process would unconver bad reviewers, for example, "just everything is good", "just everything is bad", "cite my papers". But the interest is merely anecdotical.
I'm in no way against that idea, I wouldn't object about publishing my reviews, I'm just stating that it seems to me of curious or anecdotical value.
@freemo not sure what's the added value.
@tails generate gpg keys in a safe environment.
@hund I tried mbsync also but it didn't show any noticeably performance improvement over offlineimap for me.
I guess this is because most of the time is spent in both by using fsync in order to protect themselves for data loss if something happens while downloading.
@mc Not sure if I get your point, but anyway msmtp, smtpd or even sendmail if I recall correctly can be used to contact and deliver mail to an external SMTP server which does the actual work.
Have also a good weekend!
@mc the main advantages that are usually mentioned and the reason I am going to use it in the future are:
1/ since you have to write a unit, decoupled from the timer, you can start the job at will, specially important when debugging.
2/ you get a nice entry in the journal for each unit, so you do not have to grep the full logs or ~/dead-letter.
3/ much more control of the start of the process (simple, forking, etc), important when the jobs can overlap themselves.
4/ related to units: you can restrict the available resources of each job (for example limiting the directories it can access)
5/ I'm sure I'm leaving out more...
@mc whatever my MUA usually embeds. Some other times, smtpd.
@mc not yet, but planning to do it in advance for its extra features.
@orbital for sure it is, because there weren't in previous releases.
@orbital Every time I enter into a profile, I get an error message (not specific), I cannot follow anyone from the app (the button does not show up), and muting is also not working.
@orbital Yes, it is happening to me as well since a couple of releases. I'm thinking of trying another client.
