A very good introduction to the world of #fediverse. Excellent graphics!

@kkstuppy
Looks like a good measure as to how many people are leaving twitter but also would like to check back, 🙂
Then there is https://beta.birdsite.live unless their API is broken.
@jeremy
Important list. Perhaps worth considering similar lists for other professionals as well.
You may want to tell the new requester who are not journalists that they can still follow accounts on journa.hosts from their _home_ instance, they do not have to necessarily post on journa.host with a journa.host account. After all, #fediverse can be personalised to an extreme level, till the level of hosing one's own server instance of only one person!
Besides, you can only allow so many people on your server (after all, it's _your_ server)
🙂
@abde
Yup. 100%, perhaps need to gently direct them to other corners of fediverse.
@Ssweet
Great to know your interests Steve. Have you checked out bookwyrm? You can follow people on bookwyrm from this account and if you set up an account there, connect the two accounts, 🙂
@feditips @FediFollows @FediVideos @homegrown
I'd rather pay you that eight dollars than waste it on Muskverse, 😃
Like so many people on here, I'm an unpaid volunteer.
If you appreciate this account, or my site https://fedi.tips, or my other sites https://fedi.directory and https://growyourown.services, or my accounts at @FediFollows and @FediVideos and @homegrown ...

Some very interesting reflection. The #fediverse is massive, any Mastodon instance is a small part of it. I am sure you will find members of your tribe. You can also follow twitter accounts and draw them here using https://beta.birdsite.live
You can build your personalised space in the fediverse. A bit like playing with #lego blocks if you know what I mean.

1. Go to joinmastodon.com and look for servers with topics that interest you, or that have a lot of users. Go to those servers home pages and then follow the admin. That admin will likely boost interesting posts on that server, and as you follow people, your social graph will naturally expand into that server.
2. Go to search.twitter.com and run a search for "Mastodon." You'll find lots and lots of people posting links to their Mastodon profile. Follow anyone that interests you.

3. Follow absolutely anyone who gets boosted into your timeline because they said something that interests you.
4. Go check the bio and profile of people you follow. Follow the author on any interested boost. Click the hashtags in their bio. Follow interesting people there as well.
That's all I've done, and I've found almost 2,000 interesting people since April.
BUT, you can do something I couldn't...

Ok, #TwitterMigration folks, I see a lot of people asking, "How do I find people on other servers on #Mastodon or the #fediverse.
Well, here's my #Feditip of how I went from 1 person alone on robot.rodeo to having almost 2,000 interesting people to follow in about 8 months...
A thread... 1/x
@kkstuppy
Yes, understandable. If you want to stay up with your favourite twitter accounts (called birdsite), you want to use the following
https://beta.birdsite.live/
That way, you can read your favourite twitter account posts here. 🙂
@AmberWavesofFlame
Another point might be to download a copy of your existing data and not share much on twitter. You can always share via Mastodon. You never know when they will charge you for twitter severance and data download.
#Mastodon rules: you fav to remind yourself. You boost to share with others. It’s not like/retweet on Twitter. HTH.
