Another #resolution for 2023: pay more actual artists and writers for their work.
@atomicpoet
As I gather you found out in the thread :) this doesn't apply to WordPress blogs living on WordPress dot com in any of the non-professional payment tiers.
I don't know what fraction of that 44% of websites are in that category, but I bet it's the majority, just because that's the thing that's easiest to do.
Maybe WP will introduce that as available to everyone, or at least to everyone paying at least the like $5 ad-free fee...
Absolutely stunned that people I could have sworn were sensible are lining up to endorse Post as their preferred Twitter off-ramp. Because _these_ right-wing libertarian billionaire owners will behave totally differently, you see.
It’s not remotely the same in terms of moral consequence, but it really does feel like the Iraq war, in the sense that a bunch of us are going to wind up having been 100% right about this and it will nonetheless get us absolutely zero extra credibility.
@freemo
Ah, excellent advice, thanks!

Memory leak in the sense that it gradually uses more and more memory until it runs out and the browser crashes the tab or whatever. Not directly security related. :)
So we got all of the house internet stuff upgraded today (in the process of having the Cable TV which we hardly watch anymore turned off), and when I do a speed test I discover that the WiFi is now significantly faster (in most of the house) than the wired Ethernet connections.
And I realize / suspect that there is at least one dusty 100MB Ethernet component somewhere in the basement, whereas the WiFi is now WiFi 6, and the speed from the street is 1GB or so.
lol sheesh.
Are there, say, implementations of the Infocom Interactive Fiction (Zork) engine in javascript, that run entirely in the browser?
US Politics
Seems like a good question...

Possible links to Existentialism in The Big Lebowski:
.
--- Sam Elliot's character is called "The Stranger" which could be a reference to the Camus book..
--- Donny is "throwing rocks tonight" at the bowling alley, a potential allusion to "The Myth of Sisyphus" which would also make sense with the continuous pin resetting.
--- A copy of Sartre's "Being and Nothingness" is on The Dude's bedside table.
