We appreciate you, Australian Fire Fighters. 🇦🇺 🇨🇦

This is the sort of thing that I would once have posted on social media in the hope that someone would answer. Sometimes people would, and if they did, I'd feel connected. Now I ask AI, I get an answer 💯 but no connections. So now I'm sending it out there after the fact.

@sundogplanets I am so envious of your Framework laptop. I think about them a lot but I am too afraid to buy without trying it.

Finally Canada is investing in frontier technologies and its got the most epic acronym one could hope for: BOREALIS.

"Middle powers must compete for interest and attention knowing that if they are not at table, they are on the menu." - PM Mark Carney, during his statement on Canadian Defense.

Is this the beginning of a civil war in the US?

Is America Great Again yet?

If you remove even one Kim Mitchell song from your BBQ or patio brew paylists and replace it with this classic Canadian summer anthem, you've made the world a slighrly better place.

Have we found out yet who gave Elon the black eye? My money is on Marco Rubio and it was because Elon insulted Melanie Jolie.

Though I'm not surprised that Trump eventually dumped Elon, I still find it kind of staggering how accurate the Left's predictions were about how dramatic and how quick it would be.

Audioheads... Any recommendations for outdoor weatherproof patio speakers that sync but aren't Sonos?

Dating apps use to ask men "Are you sure you want to send this?" when they send a piggish or off colour message. While this helps men, so-to-speak, I can't help but think that it's hiding who they are from women. Ultimately a woman is going on a date with an AI edited perception of her suitor.

Despite Heinz misleading new "Canadian" ad, aired during the Screen Awards on the CBC, they are owned by an American Company -- Kraft. Profts flow to the US.

Do with that as you will, Canadians.

Watching the Canadian Screen Awards makes me really glad there are no tarrifs on American TV (yet).

Me, every time "Sometimes" by My Bloody Valentine starts in Sophia Coppola's "Lost in Translation".

The more the US eats itself, the more the other nations tend to gain. I look forward to (hopefully) welcoming those Chinese students into the Canadian academy.

This is evidence of altruistic behaviour in nature and also evidence that there is no god because of there was, he'd have done a better job designing the tortoise. youtu.be/nhScpa_fGZw?si=76SHX0

An interesting thing occurred to me recently. As a technical manager we often look at candidates' Git repos to get an idea of their code approach, projects and work style. It's never 100% reliable but it's a factor. Now, much of that could be completely "vibe-coding".
