Jack del Twitter ya está hablando de pesquisar connectarse a redes distribuidas como el Fediverso. A mi, eso no es una cosa buena, lol.

@Sphinx You need to use both pedals -- the brake to slow down the vehicle, and the clutch to release the gear, before proceeding to a full stop.

If you simply use the brake, hard enough and the engine will stall, die.

If I see a red light ahead a half block or so, what I normally do is take the clutch and gear to neutral, then let the car coast to a stop, not braking much until I am close to it; sometimes it will change to green while you are still rolling to it, clutch in and apply a gear that seems right to the current rolling speed (not the first one usually).

@Dave97 Hay muchas personas amigables por acá, Dave, pero puede varear, de estancia a estancia.

Mismo la experiencia de un nuevo usuario puede sir muy diferente, a depender de come es su nuevo habitat.

Pienso que fué bueno en mi caso - Qoto és donde empezé, y és un buen hogar. Si fuera un sitio muy largo, no seria lo mismo.

@Sphinx You are doing well, it needs practice as you have to coordinate different movements all closely to make a smooth shift. But soon it becomes easier.

I learned to drive on a standard, and still prefer them, they are more spirited imo.

Once you have mastered driving it smoothly on flat terrain, you can learn how to park and start safely on a hill side -- in that case it's a finer skill, as you need to control both the clutch, to engage the gear, the gas pedal to push the engine revs up as it engages, and the brake pedal to hold the car from rolling backwards.

Again, you will get it, and it's not as bad as it sounds. We are capable of doing amazing things, just need time and practice. (and hill starting is an advanced topic, for when shifting on flat ground already feels natural to you.)

@Sphinx according to that graph above, masto social added ~4,000 new accounts in two days. That's close to 1% of their total number of users.

And these are active posters. A lot of them are pissed off at account suspensions.

@Sphinx I think the days of me waiting for paint to dry, no new posts for over an hour might be ending soon. As our friends are all active posters and already making an impact.

Masto social had so many new people that the server today was really weird when I visited earlier. No idea what was happening, I had noticed some new users and lots of posts here, but the main wave came later.

@Sphinx LOL, oh, you noticed? we have a new migration wave, our friends from Spain are all migrating to Mastodon.
