So after 10+ years of happily being a Mac user, I decided to make the switch to Linux for my next laptop, and went ahead and ordered the Lemur Pro from System76 based on some research and recommendations (which I'm now eagerly awaiting the arrival of). In the meantime I'm curious what others here on QOTO use, and if you have any strong opinions?

@devharts I use Debian. Lately, I look for whatever has a working wireless driver for Linux ;_;
Currently, a ThinkPad.

@devharts i have an old x220 which still lives on. It has a decent keyboard (non chiclet) and a pointing stick. I'm really thinking about getting another one, it seems to have enough power for my use case (for everything else there is the desktop..)

@devharts I've got an old 2011 MacBook running Debian. It works quite well. My next laptop will be some other hardware though, do I'm interested to hear how your purchase goes.

@finity Nice, my current one is actually a 2012 MacBook too - these things hold up pretty well don't they? But yeah I'll plan to post some updates about how things go with the new System76 once it arrives and I get a feel for it :)

@devharts I've got a desktop running Debian and another running Windows. I do too much .Net programming at work to give up the latter.

@2ck @bonifartius @Lwasserman Thanks for the replies! Really interesting how Debian and Lenovo seem to be a common theme here :)

@devharts @2ck @bonifartius If @lupyuen keeps showing me cool stuff, I may give up Debian for Manjaro, just to help get everything running.
